would coilovers soften my ride?

  clio 182
got these on at the mo

and the same springs with standard shocks up front.

i love the height of it, its just a hard ride over normal roads.
would coilovers solve this problem and keep the height but be a soften ride?
if so what coilovers? seen more v-max ones?

cheers

Never heard of any one putting coilovers on to 'soften' the ride.:S

just finding the set up at the mo, hard. any ideas other than go bk to standard to make the ride more softer n less hard?

cheers,
and thanks

You would probably have a better ride on Eibach springs, Coilovers are for fast road / track setups.

i was thinking weather i would or not... keeping the spax shocks at the back or go standard? what about ride height? the same?

they are apex springs which are a pretty harsh ride but coilovers will not be softer. best bet is some sportline springs. they will raise your car about 20mm (from what it is now) but it will be a smoother ride.

they menna be at the back, but put them on the softest setting and i couldnt tell a difference from the hard setting...

love the height now tho.... mmmm... i was think when my shocks go ill proberly get standard shocks and put sportlines on, but they'll b mean a higher ride... mmm....

would replacing the standard shocks with spax ones to match the back work? would it be a good thing to do? coz after doing abit of driving around its the front thats rock hard...
how do you know if ur shocks are fooked?

when your shocks are dead the car will seem to bounce rather than drive flat if you know what i mean.
you have apex springs tho, which are stiff and they do tend to bounce/skittle.

  clio 182
Yeah it does bounce around abit. Just trying to work out if my shocks or fooked or just the fact that it's the springs lol.
And trying to find some front shocks to match the bk

V-Maxx WILL be softer/more forgiving than Apex, FACT.

If i went over a mildly small pot hole with Apex on, i used to prepare myself for an almighty BANG and CRASH.

Got some V-Maxx fitted which were lower and prepared myself for a worse crash and bang, when i came across a small pothole but was pleasantly surprised, no bang or crash. Don't get me wrong the ride was firm, but streets ahead of Apex, they are just plain dangerous IMO.

If you want quality ride, without crashes etc...good handling and spot on height Bilstein PSS is the way to goo, but they are EXPENSIVE.

I heard that weitec and FK are good too in that compartment.
