Would this be a good buy?

Just had a look at a car for sale locally it is a phase 1 black 172 with 70k on the clock. 11 Months MOT Tax till the end of this month. The interior is a bit rough and there are a few blemishes on the exterior paint. There is a chavy exhaust on it to :dead:. However i took it for a spin it feels nice and tight the gearbox felt smooth the car was responsive all the way through the rev range. Brakes where a bit numb unless stood on so they may need seeing too. Service history was at regular intervals however no sign of a belt change!

I would be buying this car for a de-chav, restore and build so for £800 i'm very tempted just wondering on opinions :) should i or not?

Its worth that all day long. Just make sure you do a mot history check and a hpi.

It caught my eye as it's black, not the common silver ph1. i'll definitely get it hpi checked i went through the mot's and the mileage was traced back so it seems legit.

With 11 months MOT I'd have it. £350 for belts (?) and £130 for 6 months tax and off you go!

if it has plenty of history / receipts and despite a few blemishes i would definately go for it. Even if the history isnt present and it looks and feels "right" for £800 i would go for it. I would even try a cheeky offer of £700 cash first - its worth a try :)
