WOW - Handling

  850 T5. mmmm Turbo!
i just took my bald 16 rs alloys off the back of my clio and stuck my 15" dynamiques back on till i can afford new tyres.

the tyres are nearly new 195/50 gsd3's, i checked they are on tight but the car has begun to scare the crap out of me.

its turns in really well but when i go to straighten up the back seems to want to carry on turning, almost like im doing lift off oversteer in the WET!

is this just my fault as i have stuck different size tyres on or could there actually be a problem with my suspension?

Is it not just the tyres having softer walls? I changing my contis for Rainsports (big mistake). Took it out on the motorway and when I changed lanes it was like you say....the back end seemed to take ages to settle compared to the fronts. I`m scared of trying any different tyres now as the conti`s seem great and the walls make a big difference

Get the best tyres on the back always. The only exception is if your a racing driver on a race circuit.

can you elaborate why eddie?
the faster i got the more nervous it gets, then u brake and it makes things 10x worse!

The womans bro put Rainsports on his 172 and the handling was s**t, didn't feel confident when driving the car at all. I've never tried anything other than contis as the handling is so predictable with them and they are fairly cheap.

The Clio needs all the rear end grip it cna get the backs to light realy. sticking bad tyres on the back show it even morewhen yuo go round the bend the back has no weight pushing it down unlike the front with the engine etc and has less grip so slides out.
