X-overs

Just got a shiny Kenwood CD HU (KDC 6021), and although it has a great on-board amp (much better than the kenwood units i heard of 2years ago!), it doesnt have any filtering options on it (stupid, didnt think of it when i bought it!). Not a problem now, but am planning to add a sub in a month or so, when ideally i would like to HPfilter the front 3-ways ive got, as they do fart a bit when the volume is right up and they have to handle all the frequencies.

Can you get a X-over that can input (and output) high level speaker connections (i.e. not RCAs?), so i could feed the signal through one between my HU and speakers? I know you might say just amp them up with a filter on that, but dont rweally wanna have to spend another £150 when the quality off the kenwood is ok for me for the moment!!!

You could fit a passive crossover to each of the speakers that you want to filter out the bass to. I would recommend you get the amp and sub first, fit that, play around with the filter on the amp so it sounds how you want, and then buy the crossovers for the speakers as they are not usually adjustable.

Between 80 and 120Hz should do the trick.
