i know of 3 red light fault being an overheating concern which is easily fixable...not heard of 4 red lights.

They have 3 year warranties now. Free to fix any 360 as long as you've not tampered with it.

Well if you buy a new xbox and it's knackered. You'd take it back wouldn't you.

They'll just check everything's in the box. Of course if your one is battered to bits they might twig. But just play dumb and what can they do?

Hairdrier on that silver warranty sticker works a treat ;)

Just keep heat on it for 5 mins, although the serial on the chassis will not match the back I doubt they will check.

Need any Q's answered PM me ;)

if your gonna buy another and swap it then watch as places like PC world will check the serial.

If you want to be 100% safe swap the xbox 360 case aswell. Just heat up the seal with a hairdryer and it will peel off leaving no signs of tampering. Then swap em over and take it back. Also make a note of the serial number for the new version before taking it back.

Thats the riskiest method Ive ever heard lol.

Just get a core from Argos, swap the eject button and DVD Drive bezel (unless you own a core) and chassis.

They dont check the serials behind the USB flap.

If i remember right, dont you have to break the seal (as it were) to romove the eject button?

ok guys so basically im going to buy an identical xbox open it all up using the hairdryer method on the seal, swap the casings and possibly the serial number behind the usb flap? then box it all back up after noting the new serial number.

then do i go back to argos and tell them the xbox i bought 2 hours ago is fucked and i want a full cash refund???

I wouldnt bother doing the serial under the USB flap matey.

If you have a premium this what I would suggest:

Go and buy a Core package, open it up carefully (haridrier all the way) even on the box.

Remove the eject button and DVD Drive bezel and swap them around.

Put 3 red ring chassis + DVD Drive in the Core's original casing with White bezel and eject button.

Seal the box up and take it back as you bought the wrong one, and Premiums are ona better deal at Game around the corner so would like your money back ;)

Yes.

Stick the freshly removed seal sticker on gum paper (an old stamp book works fine) while your working on it. it easily peels off the gum paper when your ready to re-apply the seal.

If the xbox 360 is still partially working then while its open I normally short out a couple parts of the board until I get a solid consistent 3 red lights of death :D that way there is no argument even if they test it.

Non-tech places like argos and sainsbury's never check the serial numbers though.
