xbox 360 hd!

just gotta say it is unbelieveable!

cod3 in hd is like watching a film! just little things like the texture on the grass is amazing!

the difference is imediate when you first start playing, i would recommend hd before ever playing on the xbox360 cos the graphics are on a different level to the scart format!

i dunno how the ps3 will be able to do better graphics wise cos you cant fault the xb360 in hd!

what screen setting should i use on the dashboard to get the best screen possible?

GOW is great, but I wouldnt say its s***s on COD3 lol..

First time I played COD3 in hd I was very impressed also. I actually had COD3 running on both the xbox and the 360 and it really showed just how big a leap there is in 1 generation.

My TV can scale up to 1080i, but I set it to 720p. In real terms there is absolutley no difference.

720p(progressive) is better than 1080i(interlaced) but as thomas says probably not even noticable .

I downloaded some HD vids of the net and the 1080i vids were more imprssive to me than the 720p. Much much smoother and the detail was amazing too :S

Unfortunatley I can't try them on my LCD tele as they weren't WMA files so couldn't play them through my xbox

It annoys me that the file support on the 360 is a bit skinny, certainly where video codecs are concerned. Why oh why didn't they included DivX?!!

laingo, have you tried the transcode 360 add on. It allows you to play divx on your 360!

1080i has more vertical lines than 720i but 720p (progressive) gives a much nicer image than interlaced. I guess its all down to personal preference. I see artifacts and faults that regular TV watchers dont even notice, and from that standpoint 720p is superior to 1080i.

Besides unless your using 50"+ then 1080i/p is a bit pointless IMO.

But what about the smoothness (as in framerate). I assume it was running at 60fps in 1080i but 720p takes more effort so runs at a lesser rate.

ive only ever used my xbox in hd, but then i took it to a friends house and plugged it into their HD tv via the normal composite red yellow and white connections as i couldnt get to the back to plug in composite/vga.. couldnt believe how appauling it looked!! definately not a good way of saying how good the xbox's really are!

1080i will pritty much just pe scaled down to 720i on a tv less than 40" as it dosnt have the size to accomidate 1080 pixiles with out compression
