Xbox one issue

Hopefully someone will be able to help me...

My younger brother had an Xbox one for Christmas, set it up all was good, but when xbl had the issues the other day, he thought it was his Xbox so he restored it, he entered all information again and it had to download update, but it fails to download.

It's connected to Internet and has tried to manually update it as advised by Xbox website, but it's still not working, ideally we don't want to take it back because it would be away for a while and just isn't ideal.

Can anyone help? Or know of a way around this?

We can't access settings or dash as it's not got that far yet.

Have you tried 'Restore Factory Defaults' via USB memory stick?

Xbox live was broken this morning/afternoon. Have you tried again?

Tried restoring by memory stick.

It's not going that far it's just after where you put what language etc you'd like, then saying it needs to update...

Gonna take it back tomorrow, hopefully they will repair/swap.
