Yeah, lying down for me. I had one that stood up and got RROD.

A good percentage of standing up one's get RROD.

scratched at least one brand new disc when it was stood on end, so laid flat now. same as PS2, which was worse for it i think

Mine's laid down. Only way to fit it under the TV.

Standing it on one end runs the risk of it being knocked over.

I have just got the RROD on my old xbox. It has been in the loft for years and according to the net, it says that the hard drive has failed. I nearly bought the elite for £185 with 2 games at tesco.

I've had mine on end for 7-8months since my room got redone but it started to get bloody noisy with the disks whirring so it's flat on it's side now.

Had it both, prefer it flat, is it just me that thinks its clever it knows when its on its side and adjusts the pad lights accordingly?

If you do have it on the end, don't sit it on carpet, make sure that it is on a solid surface, take very little to wobble it slightly when its stood up on carpet and scratch a disc.

I have just ordered a xbox 360. It is the forza 3 limited edition with 250GB hard drive. It arrives today fingers crossed.
