xenon lamps not sitting properly

  Titanium 182
Recently I bought some Xenon headlamps for my 1.2 and I've noticed that the lamps are sitting lower than the old ones that came off the car, it looks like the bottom of the lamps should sit onto of the little shelf that is there but they sit below it and make it awkward for me to get to my sidelight bulb without moving them upwards, anyone know how I can fix this, sorry if it has already been covered, I've had a search but couldn't find anything.

Im sorry about the crummy pictures, my near side light condensated up today and was hard to get a good picture but I hope you see what I mean.

This ones seems to be alright.

if you see there is like the little type shelf that the other one sits on and from the back the wires aren't in the centre of the hole they fall down to the bottom.

Ah I see what you mean now. Did you get them posted to you?

They often break internally in transit and are usually irrepairable.

Nah I found a sport in a scrap yard and the lamps where in the car, asked the guy how much he was going to sell them for and for the price i couldn't really say no, isn't really such a big deal at the moment, but just seeing if anyone knew how to fix it.

Might be obvious but have you tried sticking a finger in there and trying to put it back into place? I've never seen this problem with xenons before but it happens with the other side of the headlight usually.

Yes, I have tried moving it back into the position where it should go but it just drops back down, maybe its a broken screw or something, not too sure.

Take the cap off the back and throw a photo up. Make sure the white adjuster is intact

You can adjust them using an allen key to get them in line with each other. Also the headlamp level adjustment works just like your old ones did.

Edit: just read your latest post and it sounds like that may be broken. See this http://www.cliosport.net/forum/show...-replace-the-white-internal-headlamp-adjuster Your photo certainly looks like a broken adjuster.

The connecter with the one that isn't bothering me is broken but that one sits fine, but the one that is the problem looks like it is all intact.

The one that's the problem is intact? I think I understand what you mean.

Sounds like one needs adjusting using the allen screw or headlight adjuster switch. The other will need the white bit inside replacing like in that thread I wrote. It's quite a fiddly job and you need an old headlight to destroy.

Its kind of hard to explain, and yeah I have 2 sets of normal headlamps that I don't need, might give it a go when I have some time then, I don't think its going to proper annoy at the moment but may be something I need to do in time.

I wouldn't drive with a broken headlamp adjuster, you are more likely to damage the bulbs which are fragile. Also when you go over bumps it will be all over the place and you'd fail and MOT.

Only ruin your headlights if you plan on selling your car with the xenons on. I only had spares from breaking a car.
