alright guys, jus been up the car park with a mate from work and had a good look at the wiring loom of the car, now I need a favour...... can anyone post up some close pics of the wirin loom around the passenger susp mount please!!!

btw the dummies have left cuttings of the wiring loom around the susp mount!!!

once I get pics of your cars I will show you the mess of mine!!!!

please help!!! ie pics soon as (now) so I can go straight upto the dealer in the morn!!!

you ever thought that your car may have been in an accident? and the lights have been swapped to cheapen the repair?

just been thinkin this may be because the alarm is fitted after build and not in factory, there for havin to strip into the loom??? that correct??

anyone able to take a pic of the same bit???

No way should you have to HPi a pre-registered car with just 10 miles on it ???

Iain, post some pics of your wiring, you got us all on the edge of our seat !

With regard to the alarm, isnt the alarm fitted at the docks on all imports anyway and NOT in the build factory ?

well it might not have 10 miles on it that was my point.

if you fit a new instrument cluster to a clio it resets the mileage.

also just came in from lookin at the engine bay and the lights themselves and noticed a few things!!

sticker on the oil filter is the same date as the sticker on a part of the wiring loom behind drivers headlamp.

and the headlights are a day later than these!! they are only stickers though!!

then why was it not picked up in the pdi that u dont have them ?

if u brought th car and it was stated that zenon were fitted and it is also stated on the build spec it has them

did u pay for them (ie are the an optinal extra)

then u can take it to trading standards

I really cannot understand the delay on this. If the chassis number gives evidence that there should be Xenon headlights on the car and there are not then what is all the fuss about ? All a bit long winded isnt it !?!?!

night.icon, I think the outcome was that someone must have taken them off at the dealer after the pdi check ?

on the top pic it shows a rubber like sheath covering the wires then further up looks like electrical tape, what I need to know is if yours areb the same??

They are standard on all MKII 172s mate so they should not be down as an optional extra, it is worth checking the invoice tho I should imagine.

Ive been onto reno uk there and they are sayin that the dealer should now contact distribution??!?!?! as the dealer are sayin the car never came with xenons

You are one hell of a tolerant guy Iain. Id be in there wanting to see heads roll if that had happened to me. Id probably go as far as taking a day off work and spending it in the dealers constantly demanding answers.

Good luck mate, give the b******s hell. You want free stuff, as well as your xenons for all the trouble they have caused.:D

na kinda need a close up of the area where the loom goes into the car just next to the windscreen washer tank!!

Havent read all this post, (sorry, but I’m supposed to be working!) but I take it that your 172 has no xenons?

Where was it imported from?



And anyhow, the washer balls that go with the xenons are not worth the hassle!!:confused:

any tech boys know if it is jus a case of unpluggin the xenons and pluggin this standard stuff in!!
