YEY new exhaust fitted

Went down to GDI today to have my new exhaust fitted and im well chuffed,
fits really well onto the car, no rattles no knocking no vibrating :D
sounds sweet, really quiet on normal road driving but proper aggressive when giving it some,
and the best bit, its actually made my car more responsive thru the whole rev range :D

what did you have before....

Looks good quality but not a fan of cut outs on a phase1. stealth all the way.

(my magnex will be going)

i will get a video of the sound, tomorow,
i didnt want a stealth i dont like them presonally, although you can get this system with a stealth back box

would have but ben didnt turn up till about 5 when we were leaving haha,
nah, leaving my car as is now its exactly how i want it :)

cba with spending money for minimal gains that in all fairlness i probably wouldnt notice in day to day driving

dunno i've had mine done and for the couple of hundred paid i think its well worth it, especially on the ph1 172. actualy sounds completly different too and much more healthy. but get what your saying about spending £££s for little gain

tbh i just couldnr be arsed with the ball ache of getting it all done as would mean my car being off the road, if i got any major work done, maybe the cam package at some point id do it then.

its the GDI own one
retails at £370 including vat :)

compared to the £500 odd yozzasport want for thier cat back systems
im a tight fisted cow and hate spending money but i dont regret this at all, well inpressed.

quality on these is what you'd expect on something twice the price, very well made and the drive home was nice and relaxing... I even managed to fall asleep twice because it's just silent on the motorways... then when you give it some this noise comes out of no where lol.

Big thanks again to team GDI, a pleasure as always... gutted there were no cakes in stock though... this is twice in a row now

yep ive had and currently got mangnex (came with the car). Im no fan of those... But still think its pretty pricey. Would have been willing to spend £300, but knocking on £400 (delivered or fiited)... maybe im a tight arse. Take it the stealth is the same price.

fred, id be intrested to compare both side to side and see what the extra £££s warrents as far as i can see an exhaust is an exhaust.and as these fit perfectly, sound great, look ace and are all mandrel bent and flow tested cant really see how you can improve on that.

you know i have nothing against yozzasport, in fact i was speaking to you about your exhausts shows that,
i simply compared yozzasport, GDI,K-tec and JP and found that IMO GDI came up ontop for looks, price and sound.

I wanted a reasonably quiet system that was throaty. from accounts the yozzasport ones are pretty loud and boomy, not what i wanted from a exhuast at all

im well impressed and the more i drive it the more i love it!
had a bit of a blast with my mate in his evo 8 FQ320 down the country lanes, exhaust sounded sweet, really burbly, poped and banged, i had a massive grin on my face... still wished i had the evo infront tho lol

Nice exhaust, don't really conform to your "different" rules.
I like the simple nature of the design, sometimes i feel like running a single pipe design like that on the 182.

Chris172cups prospeed is top notch, so im sure that is.

i just wanted a exhaust, im not doing anything different with the 172 like i did with the 1.2.
just want it to go fast, and it does just that so im please

its not a prospeed system either lol

no you can buy a differnt system.. its 2.5" all the way through to match that of the manifold and cat, so there is no restricting step down from the cat.
different tail pip designs etc etc
