  CTR EK9 turbo


What cars have you owned and their modifications. Im sure this has been on here before, but theres loadsa new members.

I had a Y-reg Scirocco (only done 73,000 miles now!) and we made a joke exhaust in the Design technology department for it, it was about 6 inches wide and looked really funny and was stupidly loud. We had to push the car out of college because the lecturers complained....(it was a school/college). Then the obligatory rare mod, the KnN airfilter, weber carb and Big bass in the boot some alpine Type R sub that cost a lot and some Koni dampers, because that car is where I invented the term BOAT with regards to a cars suspension!

Next was a nice clio 172 mk.1 and is not modded, apart from group N ecu that is no longer plugged in, spose i should put it back in really and some sony upgraded speakers in the front.
 


the ony cars i have modified with the exception of ICE are

Fiesta RST - magnex exhaust, replacement element, uprated HT leads and plugs, lowered

Uno Turbo - hybrid turbo, forged pistons, modified head, custom sealed induction kit, full scorpion exhaust with decat, stainless manifold, cams, intercooler, lowered 80mm, 15" oz chronos, and fully de-locked

saxo vtr - induction kit, full magnex exhaust, scorpion decat, modified head, lowered (eventually), and one screwed up ECU

Clio 1.2 16v - full k-tec exhaust, pipercross s-spec induction kit, lowered
 


1.1 Renault 5 - unmodded and broke down constantly so got >

1.4 Renault 5 (Not turbo) - Lowered 35mm, 15" alloys, Modded front bumper, debadged, splitter. This rates as one of the best cars ever until some idiot crashed into me and wrote it off so i next got >

1.4 8V Renault Clio - Lowered 35mm, E-tech alloy wing, debadged, splitter, K&N induction kit, alloys from my crashed 5, EBC greenstuffs. The clutch later went on this car and it kept breaking down so got >

1.6 8V Megane Saloon - Peco backbox, K&N induction kit, PBV, Ecotek, lowered 40mm, 17" alloys, Splitter, MOMO wheel, 285mm discs on front, rear spoiler. Very nice car and relatively quick if a bit odd to modify....wrote this off at 60mph going backwards into a lampost after spinning 3 times in front of a lorry (ice :(). Now got >

1.8 16V Clio > Engine reconditioned, BB Zorst with decat, L:eek:wered 35mm, 16" Willy replicas, Tarox grooved discs, Satge 1 chip, stage 1 cams, ecotek, PBV, K&N (going soon)....i wont mention all the repairs though!!!

Hopefully this clio will last longer than the others! Still got a need for a 5 Turbo though.....
 


i have only had one car and she is my 1.4 rt clio! aw

she has the demon kit, lowered 55mm and one spline on back, 15" phantoms, re spray in azurro pearl blue, smoothed bump strips and roof rails, smooth tailgate, dtm cup mirrors, cant remember what else lol! oh and a new spoiler (like an e-tech one)

anyway just starting on the interior now!

Currently still own the white R5 GT Turbo and my 2 month old Clio Cup :D
 


Only car I ever modded was the RX7 Type-R, my first turbo (actually, twin turbo) car.

It had:

Knightsports ECU (Knighsports are a top Japanese RX7 tuner)

Knightsports Exhaust, including decat

HKS Induction Kit

HKS aluminium Intercooler and piping

Volk Racing 17" wheels (with 255s on rear, 235s on front)

GUD adjustable suspension

Momo steering wheel

Mazdaspeed quickshift gearbox kit

Knightsports quad front lights

Apexi Boost Gauge

My Clio is staying completely stock thou, ive got modding out of my system for now, and like the Cup exactly as is.

My last car which I did like apart from the very very bad customer service I got from ford!! All of the changes were cosmetic apart from one of those superchips things, which didnt do much at all.

Rich-D, youre old 106 GTi looks pretty smart, if only i couldve got those speedlines on my focus?! And of course, a car I will always want to have a go in and maybe own, the 306 Ralleye, laaaavley.

I had to put the after shot from last years trip to wales to see the rally, my poor cup has all that mud to look forward to.

Am waiting for my Cup to be delivered. Am pondering a
few mild mods: bee sting aerial, boot install, 17" TSW
Zenons, tax disc holder, under car neon, and interior
point lights, and maybe... a K&N 57i, if warrantee
allows.

At present have a 1.2 Dynamique Clio. Boot install,
interior and exterior neon, and Ecotek CB26P.


Previously had an MG Turbo Metro... No rust!!! Low
mileage!!! One careful MG enthusiast owner. Lucky
or what! Heavily tuned... o-60 in 7.2secs, and 132mph.
Dump valve, twin Weber Carbs, air filter: noisy, fast and
broke a lot, so had to get rid. Shame. Loved that car.

Ford escort A reg, twin choke webbers and a sticker on the back saying "sex r 3 i" cant believe I drove it.

Golf softtop, old shape bodykit, exhaust mods, ice,etc...

3 door cosworth 300bhp exhaust, chip, filter, etc..

Yamaha r1, polished frame, swinging arm pedals, wheels etc.. full acrapovic system, cams, steering damper, sprayed ducati yellow.

BMW softtop old shape in Dolphin grey, momo alloys, mtec kit, m3 spoiler, eyebrow headlight spoilers, ice, m-tec suspension, twin exit exhaust, 57i kit. As seen in fastcar mag with 2 blondes on bonnet, see fastcar website. Mrs was miss fastcar.

Porsche 911 3.2 carrera softtop, full wide body zeemax kit cost £6000 and £5000 to fit. 17 inch turbo alloys 15 inch wide, tear drop mirrors, twin stainless steel race system, momo steering wheel, gear knob, k+n cone filter, 75 bhp of nitrous, ice, clear side repeaters.

Renault clio v6, ram air filter, cat removed, 100ish of nitrous next will be speaker upgrade, ignition upgrade new alloys, possible re-spray in flip paint.

for me its been the typical boy racer routine!

1. E reg red Escort 1.4, DTM backbox, and full RS bodykit on a 5-door!(crashed)

2. B reg Nova 1.3 SR in flame red, with full GTE bodykit, K&N bolt on filter, peco BB1 full system, lowered on full spax set-up, GTE alloys, Astra GTE leather interior and digital clocks(which i still have somewhere) plus ICE(written off) my favorite car of all time other than number 5

3. G reg Nova 1.4 SR in gun metal grey, with GTE alloys and Big ass Cherry bomb BB on the back(was on it when bought the car!) sold it to my uncle and now have bought it back for £100!

4. M reg Corsa 1.4 SRi 8v in carabicblue, lowered 40mm all round on spax set-up, piperX induction kit, Piper BB, ICE, Full GSI body kit, 15" split 5 spoke alloys.

5. K reg Clio 1.8 16v in pearlesent black, lowered at the front by 30mm, K&N induction kit, 15" prima racing willy replicas in silver, Magnex 3" BB, sh*t hot brakes all round, (future nods include - rear lowered to match front, possibly new wheels, chip, 4-into-1 manifold, de-cat, cams, and standard airbox with K&N element)

6. Next car may be one of the following - Mitsubishi FTO, Willy, Integra Type R, or Leon cupraR

Odd selection from me......





1) Mini 1000, stage 1 head and 10" wella reverse rims(10s are like 17s on current cars on the old minis) 12" Polk Audio in the rear parcel shelf, is steel and part of the body so you can use the boot as the box.

2)Astra Mk2 1.3, good grunty engine that took a real beating. Moved up to a 15" Earthquake sub, and that moved the car rather than the engine!

3) Renault 5 1.4 gts. Good engine, had problems with the twin choke carb as it kept sticking open. Otherwise was a quick car without insurance of the turbo

4) VW Beetle 1606s, £000s spent including a few grand paint job, lowered to within a 1/2 inch of the road and big azz 17" disk alloys(total discs with no wholes and very shiny). Fully dressed engine, look spesh! Had a nice install of Kenwood midrange, mid bass and tweets front and rear, and the trusty Earthquake.

5)306 cabi with no mods other than a Mac audio twin 12" amped box. nice and compact as I dont have any boot!

6)Soon to be delivered 172 in blue, few modz in the pipe line. Want a breathing kit, ideally one of those carbon air filters and a full xaust system. Will moved the Mac sub into it and maybe add some alpine separates. Dont know whether to drop it or leave it for warranty reasons!

7) See how I get on with the 172 and maybe invest in a V6 in a couple of years........

Q plate black XR2 - rebuilt engine, XR3i skimmed lattice rims, RS turbo steering wheel and centre console, some ICE

C reg Mini - Stage 2 1275 cooper engine, resprayed in dolphin grey, Cooper clocks, Mini GB lites alloys 14 inch, Spax suspension all round, weber carbs, Leather seats from Nissan 200SX, mahogony dash, RGA kit, including front and rear bumpers, side skirts and front grill, full custom exhaust, new carpets and central locking fitted

J reg Citroen AX GT5 in RED pretty much standard aprt from magnex backbox

CLio 16v K plate, tungsten grey, lowered 35mm on front and 20mm on rear T bar, black leathers and trimmed door cards, gold williams wheels, powerflex poly bushes, blue willy clocks, had a magnex and a powerlow exhausts and a momo gear knob

Phase1 Williams number 196, this car was brought with the mods already done, front quad lights, full prima racing kit with front and rear bumpers, phase 2 rear clusters, maxi spoiler, scorpion exhaust, 16inch speedline corse wheels, i put in the ICE

Not had many cars really, always end up keeping them for ages.

Ones worth mentioning:

1.3SR Nova (It rocked!) Twin Webbers, K&N, zorst, headworks etc

106 XSI - Standard - Fun in the wet!

Fiat Bravo - Standard apart from phat 17"s and slammed V low. Looked cool but was vvvvvvvv slow

Currently on the 172 just got a piper x filter, Mp3 head unit. Components in the front and a 12" Kenny sub and amp.
