GTA Vice City was great, obviously too linear by today's standards but great fun! Scarface style!

How so?
GTA 3 and derivatives were, progressively, more and more sandbox as they went along.
I put San Andreas on the iPad at christmas, must have racked up many hours, still haven't done a mission yet

Well in VC you could enter one shop and couldn't really go anywhere outwith the streets. 1 house etc. Oh but iirc we had an Escort Cosworth...

Carentan COD2. Awesome map. Awesome game.

CoD2 was amazing, the first FPS game where I really get into multiplayer. I prefered the Normady multiplayer map though for being able to run through the houses with a Thompson :D

COD2 was the 2nd multiplayer game I got into after Hidden and Dangerous 2 - there was a map on there called Normandy 2 (and later Normandy 2b) where we worked out the order of the spawn points and dominated everyone

Terry I mentioned that earlier in the thread. Great map even better game.

I loved Val Pareiso on Bad Company 2 on rush mode - storming through the jungle into the base was awesome, then pressing on along the coast, using the lighthouse as an epic sniper spot. So much fun!

Facility on GoldenEye was the first map that came to mind when I read the thread title, good to see it getting some love.

The Italy arcade stage on Colin McRae Rally 2 is probably my most driven track of any racing game, ever.

I used to love Beaver Creek and Midship on Halo 2 when I was a kid. It's a shame I can't stand Halo games any more.

Not quite! Instagib was the game mode where everyone got what appeared to be a shock rifle and no other weapon.

Except that shock rifle provided one shot kills. No damage - simply disintegration! [emoji14]
Ah. I remember! Was watching videos of UT other night, had bloody awful in game music!!

I did enjoy transponder instagib too. Flak cannon was great weapon.

Facing worlds has few votes. Must be on of the all time classic maps. So simple yet amazing. Especially in low gravity!

Seem to vaguely remember a 'push' type weapon that you could bump people off the map, or yourself up in the air massively on low gravity Facing Worlds

Hell yeah, winner stays on - what a concept! Nothing beats a few friends sitting round the same TV having a game like that, never happens anymore though :(

Used to do exactly this lol. Superb game!

I was at boarding school. We had 55 boys per house with 1 tv and one N64. Pistols and proximity mines were pretty much exclusive. That DD4 Dostevei y0.

It was like these competitive gaming things now. You had a crowd. It was excellent.

I think I put 25 kills 2 deaths in my leavers book as my crowning achievement from school haha.

A lot of the COD4 maps are still some of my favourite maps, They just got them right before they started adding in all these extra BS kill streaks and perks.

Overgrown, Wetwork and Bog were 3 of my favourites

Temple - Goldeneye.
I don't think I've ever reached that peak of enjoyment since. 4 controllers - s**t TV, winner stays on.

I wasted a whole summer of my life playing MP Goldeneye 64 :(

Mind you, I did live in Scotland at the time, I use the word summer loosely.

"Time you enjoy wasting is not wasted time" - I think John Lennon said that. Although he was probably talking about those days he only get sucked off by 3 hippies and couldnt manage that 5th tab of acid.
