why just the rear low ?

does it go with a H&R kit, excuse my ignorance im not too up on suspension.

  Lionel Richie
all the suspension kits available (apart from the FK's) don't lower the rear of the car enough

this is an add on to an existing suspension package

Jones, if you have a death wish, then thats a good idea

What length are the springs? Have you tested them? Experience any coil binding or do they work ok?

isnt a "slammed" look very toyracer surley a properly setup car doesnt necessarily need to be "slammed" ?? sure sports cars are low but not so much as to knuckle drag on the floor

How low do you go before you compromise handling?

Or more importantly, the ability to use your car as transport.

I've had to change the route I take to work as the Valver won't even get over some of the speed bumps I would normaly go over, in fact, getting off my drive is now a chore.

its a sad truth in this country of lefty penicious farts making drivers criminals the lenghs they have gone to install the highest mount everest speed bumps possible through my local city and b roads makes a "slammed" car look very stupid idea indeed.

however if its for track use and you have a landrover + full car trailer for your 1.2 clio then it makes sense.

surley 55/70mm is enough on H&R`s (as an example) even 40mm makes the 16" wheels fit the arches perfectly and look low once your driving and the car dips as the air pushes the car down at speed even further + us 182/172/172cup have splitters

H&R is about as low as you want to go on a road car before you compromise the handling, just going low isn't the goal to good handling. :nono:

Aint that the truth, the f*****s in work have just installed an alligator tooth speed bump, they claim it's 4.5inchs high but they've put it on the crest of a curve so it's higher! Going to have to be careful once I fit my coilovers and I'm not even going to attempted to get the Elise over it. :dapprove:

im sure i read somewhere that the highest any speed bump can be is 70mm

Lower the car too much and its a danger to everyone on the road. High speed + depression or bump in the road = bounce (on bumpstops) and crash, especially dangerous in the wet. Quite frankly sus companys spend millions on research, going too low on the road is dangerous full stop.

For me this is not a road mod just a track one.

Fred car is OK being lowered that much as it a 1.2 and carnt go that fast

that's not strictly true though, having a front end collision with say a 4x4, I would rather be in a standard clio than a 'slammed' clio.

such an amazingly obvious point, in order to survive in a crash to identical clio`s hitting each other you stand a good chance, lower you clio and the strenghening bars wont meet the other clios and their bars will push like spears through your car.. a real issue at the mo with normal cars i.e 4x4`s have high frontal impact bars so if your hit by a driver in a 4x4 (as if that would happen given the "types" of drivers lol lol lol) your fucked, even more so in a "slammed" clio like freds as a 4x4 will ride over the front and crush your head at high speed.

extreme lowering is for show cars or track cars that shouldnt be on the road imo of course < but if i got H&R`s id only go 30mm at a push 40mm lower even though i know the kit will allow for 50mm/70mm front ! i had 30mm loweirng and it looked perfect on my 172MKII.

Personally, I think it's all down to personal taste.

If you want to be low, be low. Why should anyone else give a s**t? Not their car!

I'm staying standard on my height as I had a lowered RST before and that was a pain to go anywhere in! lol If I had a slower car that handled badly as standard then I'd be tempted to lower it to the floor and be done with, as it might as well look good (imo, of course) if it's going to be pants either way.

Customers have requested this product, i've had it made

the springs are made by a company that makes Eibachs springs

you are all entilted to your opinions, but i disagree with some comments

  Turbo'd MX-5 MK4
i'm not questioning the product in anyway, just discussing safety aspects. I can see why people would want this product, and i think its great that you have developed it, I'm sure it will prove a popular item.

Supply on demand. That is good business, I like it.

How many of these kits do you have in stock after you have supplied to your demanding customers?

Does it cost a great amount to develop these?

Such a lot of questions, but I am genuinely interested. Would you sell a customer 20 sets?

Thanks

  Lionel Richie
depends on cost of item James

things like brakes etc etc we always keep in stock (on average 20 sets of discs for example)

certain items do cost ££££££ to develop, such as the V6 throttle body setup

a customer can order as much as they like

Thank you.

How many customers have demanded these suspension kits and have they all been supplied to? Do you have a couple of spare kits left in stock?

  Lionel Richie
the kit has only recently been finalised, been working on the V6 development non stop. that is now near completion

there was an original post somewhere, but there was a s**t load of interest

the only rear suspension systems that i've seen and had experince with that are good are the FK and H&R setups

H&R is let down by the ride height

so i've had a "hybrid" of the 2 systems created

Alan, you are going to make an order without knowing all the facts?

...only way the rear can go lower is by either a re design of the abutment which wouldnt yield alot or a short spring which could compromise performance.

  206 GTI
Well i haved pm'd fred and i will have a chat with him about it and take it from there but afaik they have been in development for a while

  182>FRS>VX220 now 350Z
Dude....I just would like to know the length of the rear spring and if you experience any coil binding issues or not lol....i'm interested!!!
