Zircotec Coating - What Colour?

  Turbos.
Just a flat black backbox would look cool. What colour is your car again? I'd be tempted for white because it reminds me of the F1 cars from the 70s...

Get the manifold done!

What benefits are there to having this done? Presume fro, the site its usefull both inlet side as well as exhaust?

  Better than yours. C*nt.
Car's black - and I was tempted by white but you'd see it through the rear vents so wasn't sure if it'd look a shade shoite. Plus it'll get s**t up when Fred works on it!

The inlet will probably be done in due course - the exhaust is the big one at the moment as I've having one made (twin box it would seem!)

Sorry, completely forgot about doing those!

Basically it's a ceramic coating that reduces the heat transfer. I'm not sure getting the inlet done will do anything (although it'll be a shade prettier as mine's filthy) but the exhaust can lose anything up to 33% (according to the spiel) of the radiated heat. Which is a big problem on the Vee, just not from the backbox! But I've got to start somewhere...

Yeah, not sure whether the effects are one-way but it's certainly picked up a bit of filth over it's life so would make it pretty again...

if its to do with keeping heat in, then I imagine it will also keep heat out, so coating the plenum will keep inlet temps down?

Yeah, although I can imagine a lot of the heat in the IM is due to the metal contact between it and the block. PTFE gaskets anyone?!

That's probably a year or so down the line yet, mind. Will probably do matching and that at some point eventually...

Gaskets were produced but due to differences in manifolds (i.e. tolerances) we did experience some sealing issues.

Currently working on a new development to overcome this.

PTFE V6 manifold gaskets are available for when you are using throttle bodies of course. Plenum gasket is always available.
