Heres a couple of my baby, an 05 sti widetrack, had her about 4 years, bought her standard and have spent a tidy sum but never regretted it. I went for the wolf in sheeps look and it has surprised quite a few nice cars running at present 440bhp but soon to be around the 460-470bhp on v power...
Exact same issue with my 1.2, complete pain in arsd, had a quick look by taking the inner door card off but I like u are waiting for a helpfull answer.
ok thanks guys for all your input, i decided to remove the aircon rad as it doesnt work anyhow due to split pipe and the fins were all bent etc so with air going into the water radiator which looks like new should cool the engine more efficiently, hopefully got another track day in the next...
It's interesting with everyone's views towards oil coolers, with or without, I'm just trying to guage best way to go from an engineering point of view as some of us know the 40 in 5w40 is the viscosity at 100 degrees c, after all it is the blood of the engine and if it thins too much it's an...
do you mean stock internally as its not really stock anymore as im running 200bhp on itb`s. cheers dan, removing the under tray never occurred to me lol
cool cheers fred, i do have an oil pressure guage fitted aswell and i have always had good pressure, i have it set to alarm if its drops below a certain pressure. so is there bad points to fitting a cooler? if i had to fit one come summer month would you fit one with or without a thermostatic plate?
what would you hardy track goers recommend, oil cooler sandwich plate without thermostat as less to go wrong and i dont use it on the road, plus how many rows as i dont want to over cool the oil either. Also stack guages are very good, ive been happy with prosport as i have them in the clio and...
That's good to know then, cheers chip, I use gulf competition or fuches pro r 5w40 depending which is on offer at the time so it will cope with 120, just wanna be safe on track as it get driven hard for 20 - 30 minute sessions at a time then cooled down.
I've just fitted the new prosport halo oil temp and pressure guages with peak and selectable alarm features, just fitted via a sandwich plate, I may well just put a 13 row cooler on then just to keep temps down a little, it would be nice to keep temps between 90-100 without having to cool down...
I've read quite a few threads on here regarding oil coolers so I have used the search bar before anyone comments, I did a track day Saturday at my local snetterton and after 4 or 5 laps my oil was at 105 degrees c, I'm using gulf competition fully syn ester based 5w40, I start getting nervous...
hi everyone, after yesterdays trackday at snetterton and the arrival of heavy rain and snow for part of the day, ive come to the conclusion that r888's are not good for those conditions lmao so my question is what track focussed tyres are best recommended as im going to put a wet set on my...
Just last week i fitted the same omp boss to my 182, the black plug that is the cruise buttons had to be cut off to fit through the boss, make sure you have the steering angle sensor perfectly central with the wheels forward as i had to reset mine again to get rid of the traction/service and abs...
ok thanks for that, im using prosport stepper guages with peak in my scoob, very similar to defi with alot less price but must admit the defi's are a quality piece of kit, i'll have a look at stack too, cheers.
im looking to put an oil temp and oil pressure guage in my 182 track car to monitor whats going on, what do people prefer on here? i have looked at the spa dual guage and a sandwich plate or is there a better option??
somebody has been been reading too many ring stories, its not a requirement bud for insurance, the rules of the road do not apply to trackdays and who's at blame or claim etc, you cover yourself against damage and no one else.
unplug 1 injector at a time to see of it drops another cylinder, if it does you know that injector is fine, if theres no change with the unplugged injector uve found your faulty one.
reset the steering sensor today by setting the yellow "0" mark to the center of the window (the yellow mark stays for 1 full turn so once the window goes from blue to yellow then go half a turn more and that is the zero point) has cancelled all the fault lights now so im happy.
as the title please as i obviously moved it when changing my wheel and what to set it too? is it a case of turn the sensor full lock one way then the other way and find half way point or does it defo have to go on clip at renault?
