Camber Bolts / Camber Shims

  Clio 172 & BMW 335D
Looking to set up a little bit of camber on the front of my track clio!

Probably around 5mm without me sounding stupid what's the best way?

Been told just get a set of camber shims and slot them on? Will this work?

If so what's best as I believe you can get plastic ones or metal or what....

Cheers Josh

I'm not sure what you mean about the 5mm bit mate? Are you meaning wheel spacers?

Camber shims are for the rear beam mate and they fit behind the stub axle where it bolts on. This adjusts the angle it sits at and as a result changes your camber or toe angles.

For the front camber to be adjusted you need a set of camber bolts. Eibach do them for the Clio. They are metal as well. The shims for the rear end are available in metal or plastic. Keep in mind that any changes you make to the camber will mean you need to reset your tracking as well. You'd be amazed at how many people don't realise this!

Assuming the toe was dead straight and you went from stock tolerance camber to - 1.5° what sort on toe in /out would you be likely to get?

You'll end up with quite a substantial increase in toe in mate if you add 1.5 degrees camber. I'd estimate anywhere between 2.5-3.0 degrees of toe in.

Hmm, wish I'd waited to get my 4 wheel alignment done until after getting camber bolts. Thinking about it logically with the caster as camber increases I can see how toe in would be increased too. Still want more camber though

We Used Eibach Camber bolts on the front and Behind hub spacers (fit behind the stub axle) 10mm and -1,5 degrees to get some Camber on ours

had to Dial out some increased Tow in once they were fitted
