Good catching up with everyone as per!

Cheers Timothy!!

You can't come cos you're doing something on a different day ? PMSL.

Mines been collected, so I should be aiming to be at SRR about 10.
I've only just got it back, so I'm hardly going to do a three hour round trip in it before the stuff goes on.

Thank you for your f**king pointless input though.

Well anyway this is me... And my "standard" 2009 B8 S4.

329HP book figure.

Wasn't expecting that, but it sure does explain a few things !

That rollers is over reading a fair bit imo if you have no bolt ons and just a map they don't make 400 on just stage 1.
Most VAG cars make more than quoted book figures thou having said that. But 429 on just a map is very opiltimistic.

It was nice to meet a few new faces on Saturday, thank as always to Tim for organising.

My slightly odd dyno figure doesn't, at first glance, seem to be boost related so I'm booked in to Ford on Monday for them to have a look at it.

I think that I may well have found a new way to break the recall fix-all head gasket LOL

Literally no idea. Previous owner took it to Audi and they told him it was standard. Never driven another one so no idea how slow they are with only 330 horses pedalling it along haha !!

Haha bloody hell that's a large increase! Definitly had a map I reckon. Audi probably wouldn't be able to tell unless they had the standard ECU file in front of them to compare it against..

What were the figures?

It's 300% had a map and probably a pulley, possibly even a gearbox map, but I'll never know.

Someone's saved me ~£3k at MRC/Revo anyway ?

Pulley also I would say.

Goes to prove that VAG engines love the miles if looked after ! my GTI made more power every dyno as miles went on and quicker pod times as miles went on ??

At the moment this is what I'm thinking, but it's not letting coolant in this time, it's letting oil and compression out.

Sounds like ford not done a very good job on that mate !! What's the next plan then ? Have you taken it back yet?

It's going in on Monday for them to give it a visual once over. The tech they and I want to work on it is unavailable for two weeks after that.

It drives just fine, MPGs are where they should be, it feels punchy enough, but it's weeping oil from the very edge of the head gasket. Does that mean HG failure?

They didn't do anything to it as it was a complete factory supplied engine, turbo, clutch, and intake manifold included.

I hope it's something simple. Mind you, I'll take another engine so long as they give me a fresh 5yr/100k warranty on it.

Oh didn't know it was new crate engine in that the case sounds like it has the same gasket as your old engine!

Out of interest will there be another rolling road day in October? I’m keen to know if the old girl still has any horses left
