S26U 512GB ordered
Got it for £597!
Traded in a 13 pro 256gb
Used S26AI for extra £100 trade in
Used PayPal as payment for an extra £100
Then very kindly got a Loyalty Code for an extra £100 off

That looks an absolute bargain. Is it any phone etc as a trade in? Well not any old phone....

Would be tempted at £600 though. Is it pretty straightforward?

Do you have EPP or blue light card? That instantly takes it down to £1,087 the just add the voucher codes at checkout etc.

Trade a phone in then use S26U to get an extra £100

Then pay using PayPal and you het another £100, doesn’t tell you though until you go all the way to paying for it nearly.

The lady in the Apple store said the 17 was the bargain of the range, only slight difference with camera & something else for a decent chunk saving over the ‘pro’?
Camera zoom, more ram, better heat management. Of those, it’s only the zoom that would send me towards the pro.

And not having the pro cameras look a bit peasanty. Might as well get a Samsung.

Anyone watch strange parts on YT? In his latest video he puts a honor silicon carbon battery in a Samsung trifold boosting its capacity. It doesn’t all go to plan but as a proof of concept it’s pretty good. This could be a game changer if this is possible with other models in future.

Soooo cancelled my S26U order.

Couldn’t bring myself to leave Apple, I’ve been in the ecosystem since the 3GS
Don’t blame you. I’ve hopped between android and apple over the years. Only one thing has been consistent.

Samsung phones are hateful. Got on with Sony, Oneplus, Google phones. But every Samsung got moved on very quickly

Why? What didn’t you like about the Samsung? They seem to be like marmite either you love them or hate them.

Primarily, it was the software. Always felt sluggish and bloated compared to plain android. But it’s 4yrs plus since I went back to apple. And it’s all so refined I just don’t think there’s a reason to change (either way).

Nowadays it’s the watch/airpods that keep me with Apple. That and my utter hatred for android auto. I avoid taking the wife’s car out when we’re all going somewhere so I don’t have to use it.

AA isn't any worse than Carplay IME,what do you hate about it?

I don’t know if this is a pixel only issue, but once aa is on the phone is a brick. Can’t use the phone (as a passenger) to use Spotify/Waze etc. everything has to be done via AA or voice control.

And the voice commands with more consistently with CarPlay.

And I forgot MagSafe. Love it.

None of those things are an issue now, phone works just fine for passenger whilst running AA.

Voice commands are easy to use and work well.

Pixel now has its own version of mag safe.

I don’t agree on voice commmands. As said, I have to use it occasionally and they don’t work as well.

But, even if they did, these days what’s the motivation to change? For either set of users? Neither does anything remarkably better than the other.

No Apple or android user is going to pick up a phone from the other os and be blown away by the hardware or software. They’ve just relentlessly copied each other to the point where there’s no reason to change.

Yeah that's been changed, the waze thing used to irritate me as well but it was a Waze update that sorted it vs AA. Having used both a lot I can't say I notice much difference between the two now

I'm an android user though and always have been, Just don't get on with Phones or IOS although I'm probably gonna buy a cheapo iPhone to run Carplay on the Alpina as it doesn't support AA and I dont want to use one of those Chyna boxes to get it on as I'm yet to see one that doesn't have some sort of glitch or issue

Lebara deal.
Very interesting. Might try and man maths my way to this if people genuinely don't have issues with signal.

Currently paying £9 a month for sim only. But could buy a one plus 15 outright and sim only to Bring costs down.

Love what Nothing do. Just so interesting in comparison to others, yet actually making good products. Carl is still the king of getting close to flagship killer specs.

My dream flagship would have their software and design.

I switched to Lebara on a 75p a month deal they had about a year and a half ago. Genuinely the worst decision I ever made. Sub 1mbps indoors, struggled to get above 5mbps outdoors. 5G coverage was almost no existent and wherever I did get it, my speeds were less than the 4G speeds I used to get with Smarty before I moved. It was so bad at points I thought it was a phone problem but I've since moved back to Smarty and it's miles better.

Don't get me wrong, I've heard lots of good reports about them, but it was easily the worst network I've been on. My mate who was on Vodafone would get perfect coverage in loads of places I had virtually no signal despite using the same network.

Bandwith strangle? Can they even do that? The missus' went the opposite way. Went from E local data at home to 4g/5g at home. 😂
