Hi all,
After some advice as I'm pretty confused
Recently installed 197 cams into my 182 so obviously did timing kit and cams 7degrees at the same time. Took the car to get mapped and whilst it was on the dyno there was a pretty noticeable metallic rattle at around 3k rpm. After the dyno i realised the aux belt had come loose (Pms aircon delete tensioner) tensioned it back up and seemed ok. On the drive home after a short pull the car shut off completely, when i turned it back on there was a very loud knocking/tapping, this soon became a lot quieter until it just sounded really rattly. AA advised that the sound wasn't mechanical, and it drove back ok, just really sluggish. Both belts look ok. Any way i've locked it in tdc and the cams are worryingly out, did a compression test and all cylinders were 125psi which I've been told is a postive as they are all even? But very low none the less.
Any help/advice muchly appreciated, what might've happened or wether I'll need a new head or not
Cheers
