Timing Jump

Hi all,
After some advice as I'm pretty confused
Recently installed 197 cams into my 182 so obviously did timing kit and cams 7degrees at the same time. Took the car to get mapped and whilst it was on the dyno there was a pretty noticeable metallic rattle at around 3k rpm. After the dyno i realised the aux belt had come loose (Pms aircon delete tensioner) tensioned it back up and seemed ok. On the drive home after a short pull the car shut off completely, when i turned it back on there was a very loud knocking/tapping, this soon became a lot quieter until it just sounded really rattly. AA advised that the sound wasn't mechanical, and it drove back ok, just really sluggish. Both belts look ok. Any way i've locked it in tdc and the cams are worryingly out, did a compression test and all cylinders were 125psi which I've been told is a postive as they are all even? But very low none the less.
Any help/advice muchly appreciated, what might've happened or wether I'll need a new head or not
Cheers

Have you tried re-timing it and then compression testing it? It might've just jumped a tooth, seeing as the compression figures are all even. Should be around 170-180psi when timed correctly.

describe 'worryingly out' ? it doesn't sound great TBH. at the very least I'd want it timed up properly, compression tested and a bore scope down to check for damage.

have you removed the lower timing belt cover to see if the tensioner has moved?

Thats the plan next, do you have any idea if that would have caused the sudden rattling? sounds a lot like failed dephaser

Not the best picture, thats with the 7 degree horseshoe. I have checked with a boroscope and theres no signs of contact. Tensioner seems all good aswell. Going to retime it and see what the figures look like then

did you replace the dephaser? were the exhaust cam and dephaser fasteners torqued correctly?

that's significantly out. have you got a keyed bottom pulley? you need to check if the tensioner has slackened off or if the bottom pulley has spun, but it's not looking good.
