They are quite flexible. All or one can be plugged into your router but obviously for most setups it will just be one.
Connect to router not open reach wall box.
They are good, performance is good but they are still limited by distance and number of nodes in the mesh. So if you are trying to go too far you will need to add another mesh node.
There are lots of really good options now and the setup couldn't be simpler.
Don't expect to get full WiFi speed, that is if your BT router is giving you 500mb/s when you stand next to it. The WiFi connection to a mesh node might be 250-300 mb/s.
I've had a TP Link Deco mesh for 5 years no without issue, just install and forget.
