Did you put the impact gun on the puller? Sometimes that shocks them.
Also if you do the bolt up on the puller f**k tight then smash the end of the bolt with a club hammer... repeat many times... that can also work.

I've had to use a sledge hammer before, they can be right dicks.
Can I buy it and strip it for parts?
Yup, I've done the same. I'm rarely trusted with a hammer that big though cos I'm more used to small tools.

Only if its super cheap and there are loads of other people who want to buy it to use mate.
Day 3 of fighting the driveshaft. My hydraulic press came and it did nothing. Went back to the original tool and managed to get it to pop. After a bit more fighting it's out.
I had to sacrifice some of the threads on the joint. I take it that it's not worth repairing the threads and just buying a new joint? Given the state of the old one, it's probably no bad thing.

Another hour or so this evening dodging the rain. I desperately wanted to clean around the rocker cover as it was caked with oil and grime everywhere. Stripped it back a little for better access to give it a good scrub. Its not perfect, but the rocker area looks a million times better.
Whilst I was there I replaced the turbo gasket seal and torqued to 22NM as per manual. Someone had previously tried to silicone the old one. Found a bolt for the hot side pipe that was also missing and had a general tidy up.
Got the old crappy broken badge off and replaced it with a new one. Looks a million times better.
Spent the last bit of time cleaning up some of the CV grease and grime that had gone everywhere. Looks like its going to rain the rest of the week so I will have to wait until the weekend to carry on.

I have never known the weather to be so temperamental. It's been sunshine and then thunder and sunshine again all day. Managed to get a little bit of time between showers.
Scuttle off and the drivers side drain was blocked. Grabbed a pipe cleaner and unblocked it.
Got the brakes, shock, hub and arch liners out.
Lots of crap in the arch
Quick blast with APC, a brush and the hose and it looks a lot better.
I have booked Monday off so over a long weekend I'm hoping to get it all back together with all the new bits.

Very lucky i didn't break it or need to go to a+e to put a needle through the nail to release all the blood.
After speaking to @Brigsy this morning about the CV joint, I was worried i would have to take the shaft out to get proper purchase on it. I had my first bit of luck and after a couple of taps it came off.
Gave the hub a quick going over with some Hammerite. Anyone who is observant, might know there is something wrong in this photo.
Everything was pretty tired.
Sanded the worst of the corrosion off the spring and touched it up with Hammerite, also fitted some new spring protector sleeve as the old ones had perished.
Annoyingly im still waiting on my CV joint from Kam as it had to come from Germany so its back together as much as it can be.
When tightening up the pinch bolt, it ended up snapping. It's only then i realised someone had used non genuine nuts and bolts. The other side bolt was actually bent. Means more annoying delays whilst I wait for parts. Tomorrow it will be the rears turn.

Rear shocks done, had an absolute battle getting the bolts out. After a couple of hours fighting, they came free. Just like the fronts, everything is well past it. I did attempt to free up the handbrake, but it would never return properly so a job for another day. Might just replace the caliper.
Just waiting for the final parts so I can finish putting it back together and get an alignment.

CV joint has finally been shipped so should get that this week so I can finally put it back together.
Passenger side all back together, sadly didn't get pictures, but cleaned up the spacer and the back of the wheel before putting back on.
Tried out the Ceratoke kit on the lights and quite impressed.

Impressed with the amount of work you are doing on this Rojer. Did you get braided brake hoses to replace the originals?

It's on my list on the next round of jobs, but for now it would be nice to actually drive the thing rather than it being on axles stands for weeks
The mythical CV joint finally arrived yesterday so it was time to crack on. Had an absolute ballache getting the joint on as you have to compress the retaining clip on the shaft, but after using a jubilee clip, I managed to get it on. Careful if you use the Febi CV joint kit as the small clamp they provide is too small, luckily the one from the CV joint kit was slightly bigger.
Finished everything off today. I did try and clean the arch liners, but i think they are just past it.
After two or three weeks it was back on its wheels, i double checked everything and torqued it all up. I was really worried that the ride would be firm on the Trophy shocks, but its not at all. It's still really comfortable and it feels amazing. I had a big smile on my face when chucking it down the lanes. I'm really happy with the way it's driving now.
Next up is the alignment in a couple of weeks and then probably do the rear brakes with new calipers, hoses and bleed all the fluid. I would like to replace the AC condenser and get that working again. Its given me a lot of confidence in the car and to push on doing other bits on it.
It desperately needs a clean though.

Is that a crack? My silicone hose that I got to replace the old knackered oem one that sits in that clip oozes oil. It’s very annoying.
Hmm, tbh I just jumped straight to the rocker cover gasket. I will have to inspect the pipe and see, but it seemed dry when I moved it earlier.

While my AC works, it’s a bit hit and miss and Dr Google says the dryer is farked.
