Clio 182 Turbo

I'm sure I slackened the tensioner and moved it forwards to alleviate the rubbing before. But then I also saw there was a dodgy shite set of tensioners as well cos there was someone on Facebook with the issue

It's just easier to f**k the lot off and run the full PMS kit🤣

What's the belt size?

Not sure tbh. It was a genuine kit so just whatever it came with. Although it’s pretty much fully compressed with the belt on.

I might do that. Or even try a slightly longer belt. I wonder if my alternator isn’t quite right and just holding the belt a bit too tight.

The first tensioner that came with the kit was absolute shite. The casting was terrible and it snapped at the first sign of any pressure to turn it. This one is better quality, despite having the exact same markings, but it’s just pissed.

I’ve bought enough s**t now, they’ll be no PMS kit 😂

Fair enough, SKF kit is 1660 for reference if it's any use in future

I didn't use a pulley delete kit but went for Lambert's style while maintaining the small bottom idler pulley

Not that it helps you right now... but it's an option

You know what, that does help.

I didn’t realise that kit was as cheap so f**k it, I’ll order one of those and I’ll sack all the crap off with the tensioner. I’ll sell the PMS PAS delete pulley on once it’s done too.

What belt did you use if you kept the bottom pulley?

If you order from him I believe it includes the belt for the setup pictured.

To retain the bottom idler I used Dayco 202779325 (5PK1212). I did have to remove the idler, fit the belt, then refit the idler as I couldn't get enough stretch

I built my kit so big disclaimer: that size may not work with his kit of you do order it. I can DM you the bits I bought if you go DIY, don't want to step on any toes.

Stuff turned up today. Got a clutch. Didn’t want a padel but that’s what I’ve decided to go with. Should be ok converted to hydraulic. Got some new flywheel bolts too.

Turinis turned up too. Photos did them a lot of justice. They’ve definitely been painted by a blind man. However, they are straight so will come up nicely with a refurb so will get them dropped off over the next few weeks.

All the clamps are now swapped for the hi-grip ones too. They are so much better than the old ones so thanks for the recommendation on that 👍
