Car  clio 172
hi all

just thought i would let you know i part exchanged my 172 for a brand new 192 2 weeks ago what a mistake!!!
they may both have the same badge but my god they are completely different cars i am not that impressed at all its slower, handles like s**t and im sure it will fall to bits as quick ha ha

i suppose im the fool for getting another reno!!

i wish i had my 172 back

172/182s are great cars to drive. It's the owning them that sucks. Constant repairs/warranty work and the V poor build quality.

I wouldn't own a 197 as it's trying to punch above its weight.... and failing.

Had my old 172 for over a year and it's been pretty good reliablity wise.

Had Renaults before though so used to build quailty/things falling off all the time!

i had my 172 for four years & 40,000 miles, it was pretty faultless.

^^ had mine for 18 months and all that broke was the HT leads.
other than that, faultless.

boring... :dead:

the boy can't evne get the name right of what he is talking about. total wind up.

i think this is a wind up.

i think alot of people are missing the point of the 197 too. everyone is comparing it to all these other cars and not taking it for what it is.

Well, if the name is supposed to derive from the number of horsepower it has, 192 would be more accurate then 197 really... ;)

i think the 197 is alovely looking car never driven one so dont know the pwoer issues etc but they are in different leagues to be honest its like comparing the 172 to the williams they are good in there own way...thing is why would you buy a car without trying it first very very strange!!

the name is for PS isn't it? ;)

how anyone who had just bought a 197, manges to put up the wrong number for it is beyond me. the number 2 is not that close to the 7 is it on your keyboard? makes me think he meant 182... lol ;)

total troll

Yeh, like it has been said, you wouldn't "upgrade" to a more expensive car without at least test driving it first.

For the cost of a 197 I'd rather have a Meg 225 and thats what I did!!! lol

I'm sure the 197 is a good car, but the 172/182 was an awesome car to drive and taking into account that the 197 is supposed to be the newer, 'better' Clio its gonna get compared.
Sadly it sounds like Renault have tried to adjust its appeal to people other than the previos Clio RS owners and thats put them off.
