turbo question

hi,
as some may know i want to turbo charge me car,was gonna go with supercharger but since iam looking at a very big and exciting project that 4 of me mates at work are coming up with turbo will be the way to go to take full advantage of the new system [not yet finished basicly just started].
but when i was looking at a turbo i was wandering how do you fit the exhaust to the gas outlet side of the turbo?
do you need a special bracket on the exhaust or do you have to have specially made exh manifold?

sorry its a mark 1 phase 1 originally a 1.2 but getting a willy conversion.

If your present knowedge of engines is that you don';t knwo how to attach the engine to the turbo I'd sit back and read a lot of books and managines first practical performace cars has just finished a series of articles where they DIY turbos a BMW.
