You know my thoughts:
I have a cat C atm and previously had a cat D.
I would advise insuring the airbags were not deployed. It is unlikely they will be working again if they had as it costs so much to replace. My car at the moment had been in an accident so the airbags deployed having said that, but I have bucket seats and harnesses so I am not too bothered. I also picked the cart up for between 500-700 quid less because of this.
The thing you have to think about is resale values. E.g. try and avoid crinkles in the roof and obvious signs of damage.
IMO you should look to pay around 35% less for a categoried car.
Sam
well sam i see your point i had the same prob with mylast car it was a 2001 and had 60.000m i paid well below average (2000) but when i crashed it not a single airbag went of i hit the wheel and my nose tuck all the blow (poor thing) but the car im looking at is a 2002 extreme with 25000 miles and he only wants 2000 maybe even be able to go lower but it is a catagory insurance loss.
what u think ?
my dads in the trade but cant manage to find me one for trade
