managed to sell my ka privately today for a LOT more than i was accepting part exchange! sorting the retention out tomorrow and picking the Racing Blue up on Tuesday The private buyer is even giving me the money tomorrow and not picking up til at least Wed of next week as he lives in South London!

so happy cos I thought things were all going wrong and that I wouldn't have it in time for FCS.

Having some stuff done to it next weekend (nothing major, just something different for FCS) and i've sent off for my cliosport keyring and sticker

I would give you £1700 for it! Private just under £3k, parkers is about as accurate as a fake rolex.

Everyone know's Parker's values are way off the mark, but Glass's are far more accurate as this is what the majority of the trade use, and where my values have come from. However private just under £3k?! Hope that was a Friday evening joke!!

he lives in croydon! came all the way up to view it today, pretty much said straight away he would buy it and left me a deposit. was for his daughter and he's been looking for one for months, there's a few up for sale at the moment but they've got double the mileage mine has and they're £2.5-3k so he got a good deal if that's the only car she would have! poor guy having to drive all that way twice though!!!

yeah i put it up on pistonheads purely because u or someone else showed me a link to one that had double the mileage, a dodgy bonnet and NO service history for £2,500 as opposed to my 34k miles, full service history etc so i thought- il stick it in for £2,700 not losing anything in doing so as it's getting part ex'd anyway if it doesnt sell!

yep im glad that the garage cant make any money on me! means i get the 182 for £8,500 instead of £8,700 aswell so it's all good!

Fair enough, at least you know now its gone to a good home, they are a good buy the Ka's because even though they are getting on abit they still look fresh and girls go mad for them as a first car. The dealer would only of put it on his forecourt for £3.5k or something silly...At least this way everyones happy as a dealer probably wouldnt want the hassle of a part ex either.
Is it not illegal for a dealer to sell a car without road tax or am i day dreaming? Someone clarify this for me please..

i know it sounds sad but i'll be well upset when the guy drives off in the ka! it was the best car at college when i got it 2.5yrs ago lol and its been so reliable ive never had to fix anything on it! was going a bit rusty though on the door sills and it's nearly 8 yrs old now. great though to say i didnt pay much more 2.5yrs ago and i've done double the mileage since i bought it hehe

the tax thing - i dunno, i thought the 182 would have had tax on but the guy said it hadnt got any on, god knows when since! it didnt have the disc on when we took it for a test drive last weekend either

i dont see many 182s around me, infact i havent seen one for weeks! and ive only even seen 1 racing blue around here last yr

Well there is mine. A bloke at the bottom of the street has one 04 plate. There is one at the otherside of town with a private plate S3GUD another woman has a 54 plate which i have seen a couple of streets away and in the petrol station. Also a V6. Im real lucky or sad.
