Right after doing some research on here I now have some issues with the car's history. I was under the impression services were ever 20k. In reality they are 12k or 2 years. This car has has services at 20k, 40k and 50k. This worries me a little should it? No idea if aux belt was changed at 36k either. If I were to buy the car and have cam/aux done would this still be ok despite previous lack of servicing? Also the car was advertised as having full service history which it clearly does not. Would that enable me to get my deposit back?

Gonna ring garage now but want to get my facts 100% straight any advice/help would be much appreciated.

If its been serviced at a stealer I would take a guess at saying the AUX belt has not been changed as it may surprise you but most dealers think its not due until 5 years or 72k BUT THEY ARE WRONG.

Your looking at between 5-6 hundred pounds to have both the AUX and CAM belts done.


Service history is a bit concerning if you ask me basically it had one service between 10-20k when it should really of had two.

Might play a factor when you want to sell it on .

Got couple of decent quotes for insurance, looking at £650 ish. Anyone recommend a decent insurer? Bit paranoid about car not being listed properly as it is so limited.

Ok well rang garage and he is doing the cambelt as gesture of good will. I am meticulous when it comes to servicing so i am gonna still get it. I am getting it for what i think is a good price so i am gonna gamble on it being ok .

Glad you got that sorted. Make sure he is doing both the CAM belt and the AUX belt. Also make sure all relevent documents are stamped to say it has had it done.

Yeah need to make sure that he is doing it. He has bought the relevent kit for the cam belt, am i right in assuming that does not include the aux belt?
