No brakes

  Clio 172
Well as some of you may have read yesterday i managed to get the piston to pop out the front caliper losing all my brake fluid, since then i have managed to get the piston back in the caliper all fitted with the new disks and pads. Tried bleeding the system for a good while and the brake pedal still hits the floor, ive been told that i need to get a high pressure vacuum pump to suck the fluid through the system as it has ABS, any advice as i need the car ASAP! Cheers

Get a Gunners one person eazy bleed system about £17 you don't realy need the vacume systems.

You havn't bled the brakes unless your getting fluid out.

just a thort have you tried stampin the pedal down in really fast pumps(vicously) with a finger over the open bleed nipple to get it started ?????????

Fluid was coming through slowly with bubbles but it was taking an age, i have bled systems before but never with ABS, also the pad wasn't closing on the disk when the nipple was tightened. Where can i get one of these pumps (preferably this wkend)?

Halfords.

Fluid will take an age the system takes 1 liter as normal but to get the air out you often need about 2 liters of fluid poruing though as you bleed out a liter trying to get rid of bubbles.

How long is an age exactly? Was going at it about 15mins on all the calipers and the pedal still hits the floor, just want to get operational

Unfortunately couldnt get the one man brake bleed system as halfords are shut til tomorrow morning. Had a brain wave or a really bad idea, the ABS system is made up of valves which have closed that stops me from bleeding the system (i think), could i just bleed the system conventionally with the engine switched on?

Just leave it till tomorrow. The abs system ins't shut though as such.

When I had trouble with my brakes, I got the bleed kit from halfords and tried bleeding mine, but didn't work, and I took it to renault to do.

They did it, and the technician that worked on it said that they have to disable the ESP, and it needs to be done in a certain order. I'm not sure whether it was the truth, I never listen to what renault say.
