KNOCKING UNDER HARD ACCELERATION

I had a knokcing when i accelerated hard i replace the engine mount under the battery tray friday it sorted the knocking but last night i noticed its started to do it again but not as bad as it was does anyone know what it could be. Cheers.

Gearbox mount? or maybe the one on top of the engine do a search mate

there was a sticky on this. Somthing easily fixed with washers.

I will change all the mounts where abouts is the gearbox mount iv just brought the car so havnt a clue and also the engine top mount iv heard you can adjust them and also how come the knocking stopped for a few days. Cheers

Drivers side mount under the bonnet. Slacken it off, (x2 15mm iirc) then 'pull' the engine and mount as far as you can towards the front of the car. Retighten and test. Worked for me

So do you suggest slackenin the engine mount bolts then puuling the engine forward and tightening them back up once iv done this and it is still doin it will it be the manifold knockign on the bulk head.Cheers

Thats what the noise is, its twatting the baulkhead. Just try it, its a free mod, if you read the thread it worked for me, and a few others

Aye no worries. Very easy to do. I knew it was that mount for me, as my old cup never did it, untill the cambelt was changed. This mount has to come off for the belt to be changed. So it just needed re adjusting.

I looked at the mount and it was almost to the end on the bracket but i undun the bolts pulled the engine and bracket to the end of the adjustment done them up and tested it it seems ok now its weird as i only moved the bracket forward a lil and it seems to have sorted it im goin to change the rest of the mounts anyway cheers for that bud your a star.

I replaced the dogbone mount which fixed mine. The std rubbers were gone and was causing lots of movement of the engine!

ITS STARTED KNOCKING AGAIN WHEN I GIVE IT HARD ACCELERATION IV REPLACED THE MOUNT UNDER BATTERY IV MOVED THE ENGINE FORWARD WHAT ELSE CAN I DO TO STOP THE KNOCKING PLEASE HELP AND ALSO HOW DO I BECOME A CLIO SPORT MEMBER NOT A FORUM USER WB cheers

Mine's making a funny knocking noise from the back of the car. Its driving me nucking futs. Think its coming from one of the rear sturts, not sure though. For the sake of my sanity does anyone have any ideas?

Thats been annoying me for months, 4x16mm bolts loosened, big hoik, tightened and job done - no more knocking.
mine was same, didnt do it till aux belt changed

Mine was doing this too when it got over here.
Like a sudden burst of grunting noises when accelerating in 1st or 2nd?

The dealers took it in and replaced the Drivers-side top engine mount under the warranty I got - now it just purrs like a cat :approve: a very big cat mind-you! lol

My girlfriends corsa had knocking under hard acceleration, we changed the mounts with no joy .It turned out to be the suspension, it's now sorted.

My front struts were knocking on full lock, might have been contributng to the acceleration noises too but not sure
