Black ph2 172ff - £5500 - 52k - 53plate



Found a 172ff close to me yesterday. Very interested as its been looked after well FSH etc, but am abit worried about the miles.

At the price I've talked them down to they wont repair a small dent in the bonnet and a cracked fog light. I'm not to worried as I can do both. The dent is only small where someone has pushed on it to shut it.

Does this look like a good deal? Its from a Renault Steeler so comes with a full 6 month warranty. I dont know if this is worth the paper, but they say if anything goes wrong I'd be able to get it fixed.

I know there are cheaper out there, private, but I'm a tad worried about doing that as cheep private are usually cheep for a reason.

Has the cambelt/aux belt been done? Having looked at some of the quality cars for sale privately on here, surely a full RAC check for £200 wil give you piece of mind. Beefmeister has a 48k Monaco at £4850, looked nice just as one example....

I bought my mk2 172 on 45k, she's now on just under 83k, and running really well, it does around 16k a year.

I found that between 60-72k was where it cost quit a bit of money, two new driveshafts, alternator, cambelt 72k service etc.

Yup, they where done buy the previous owner on 36k. Funny enough thats the first question I asked as the muppet who I was talking to told me it had 40k on it at first, so I was uber interested.

I seen that on autotrader. There are a couple on there for £5k or less but most seem modded or imports when I've checked them out. That one is from Ireland. Wouldn't that technically be an import? Is that yours fella?

Ive got an import, payed 7K only had 14500 on the clock, its on 21 now, thats since October, love the car much, would get rid for ne thing!!!

No not mine, just did a search, but import doesnt really matter does it, as long as a couple of bits have been done? Someone one here will be able to tell you I am sure...

Id rather have that!

Ive had a black and now my current flamer are both imports via Motorpoint, no difference apart from alarm is missing on them

My current one even had 3 years warranty, not that that matters now!
 
Just got back from a test drive. Looks clean but i walked away because it wouldnt go into reverse! No joke and the garage got shitty about it!

52k is not a huge deal if its been maintained. I spent £500 at 60k, but imo worth it if you want to prolong its life.
