If you have twin subs do you need two amps?

Im about to buy twin subs but shorly your big red live wire running to your battery would loose power trying to power two of them?

And is it best to get two amps?

Is the battery in the car powerful enough to power the two of them or does it loose power?

so long as the amp has 2 chanels then 1 is fine, just try to match the channels power to that of the subs rms.

Its been the best part of 10 years since i Dabbled with stereos-

With 2 12 or 15 inch subs you need as posted above 1 Amp that runs 2 Channels --
Sadly some Cheap amps are PISh & the true power output isnt close to the one advertised-

Get a decent Amp & run the 2 Channels in the car its simple- You wont lose power -- the battery is running the Amp-- the Amp is running the Speakers-

If you want the best sounding stereo then balance it out with mid range & top end speakers otherwise you will get overwhelmed with base-

Once you get into that teritory though you would need another amp & an active crossover... Im sure things have probably changed by now-

By old Pug 205 had 6 amps & an active running- 4 tweeters, 4 mids, 2 freeways, 2 10's in the rear side panels & 2 12's in the boot-


MAKE SURE THE BOX YOU GET IS SET UP OF THE SUBS OTHERWISE THEY WILL SOUND PISH

Im not sure TBH-- Ive not bought a stereo in years- or aMP-

I had a PPA 600 which run the subs well-

Just find a good make of amp that runs 2 channels at good power-

Unless your doing a professional install then the small differences in power / outputs are probably negligable for what you want-

buy a mono amp if each sub is 4 ohm join them together make it run on 2 ohm with a good qwality amp that runs 2 ohm stable with a high rms out put what iv always done dunno if its the best thing to do or not though ??

Arnt mono amps expensive? Like very expensive?
