Whats plenum ? Would a 182 one fit 172 ?

Sorry if this sounds silly.

But is the plenum the lower inlet manifold bit with injectors going into it ?

Or something beide throttle body ?

I read a thread a few days ago, someone was asking if the 182/182 cup plenum would fit a 172.

I cant remember i the replys was it would or it wouldn't can anyone shed light on this ?

Are all the bolts in the same place ?

172 breather goes into the underside of the plenium, the 182 breather goes into the back of the plenium. For the reason alone they wont fit each other.

The plenum is the upper part of the inlet manifold with RenaultSport written on it.

Thats just one issue. But not the real reason. The bolt spacing is completely different. So draws air.

Ok so if i was wanting to uprate the plenum on my 172FF ?

I take it it would have to be from another 172 ?

What about the lower inlet bit ?

I've heard the ones on the 182, with "Rs" on them are better.

Is this true ?

Never knew that , i thought the only differance in the engines was the exhaust manifold and the system itself? but hey im still learning
