Rear bumper dilema

Hey guys and girls

I recently purchased a rear bumper with the licence plate situated into the bumper instead of on the boot lid, only thing is that now i dont know what to do. Should i fill the boot lid and place the plate in the bumper? (rather no, too much work) or do i leave the place in the bumper open and just fill in the drilled holes in the bumper where the plate gets screwed in? (but would that look ok)

Im really not sure what to do, and would like to invite all your brilliant minds to shoot me with your ideas and views so that hopefully i.....i mean WE can sort out this little dilema :approve:

This isnt my car, mine is white and i currently have my bumper in the lid. But maybe this pic will help a bit:rasp:

What bout if i left the plate on the boot lid, and left the bumper plate area empty? just fill in the holes and stuff. Could work couldnt it?

Cause if you look closely the plate area in the bumper is moulded in such a way that the lines follow those from the boot lid, so could maybe be taken as it was meant to be empty......or not? :D

F**k smoothing the bootlid looks crap only looks good when u smooth just the handle of and leave the plate recess on the boot

i think you made a mistake buying the bumper.

No offence mate but i dont really care what you think about my purchase decision, im happy with it and dont regret buying it. just open to new ideas, beside the usual "smooth the lid and relocate the plate"....why be the same as the rest:rasp:

You should have asked the question before you bought it

Cheers mate, thats what i was worrying bout, smooth lid might look s**t. But if i cant get the ph3 boot lid, then leaving the recess might work out. Like i said before, its wiked how the lines flow from the boot to the bumper....doesnt look half bad i rate:approve:

One of the problems will be lighting up the number plate if you keep it on the boot lid? Maybe smooth over the recess on the bumper and mount some led's or something so you can still light up you number plate?

LOL...dude, i asked for ideas and your views on the options that i had listed, why the hell would i ask for someone's opinion on wehter it was a good buy or not....once ive already bought it. If i had doubts bout that then i wouldnt have purchased it...i believe it makes sense. But no worries man, each to his own.

cheers

why are you going to have problems lighting up the number plate the number plate and recess stays where it is on the boot all your doing is taking the handle of where u open the boot the light will still hit the number plate so why do you have to fill over where the light is

I mean if the bumper is swapped for the one with the number plate recess in the bumper because the numberplate light will be in a different place.

cause in the new bumper the light is situated facing downwards for the original plate recess, no hole for the light to shine upwards onto the boot lid recess....but ill just cut one out, cant be toooo hard:approve: right??

Ok cool i like that idea, but if i were to do it how would i go about relocating the boot lock? is there like a thread or something on doing that?
And would i have to get the whole boot lid resprayed or could i just spray the area that i smooth?

Thanks for the help team:approve:
