Xenon headlight too high (Renault Dealers are sh*t!)

  Black 172 ph2
First of i would like to rant how sh*te Renault Dealers are. I bought my Clio not long ago and the n/s headlight was pointing too high. So took it to Renault thinking they will know how to fix it. They did a diagnostic (cost £40) and said it needed a new motor adjuster (£105 inc labour). Booked it in and had the work done. Bloody head light is still pointing too high!

Took it back today to complain and now they are feeding me some aboslute bullcrap about its because the car is lowered and they can't do anything about it because the motor keeps re-setting the headlight too high!! They wouldn't listen when i said the headlight won't even manually adjust and they said that it is adjusting but just re-setting itself, i know for a fact it wont manually adjust!!!!!! The o/s light is fine and manually adjusts!

Im totally pi**ed off with them now

Anyway, im thinking of giving it another go myself but need some help on how the headlights work.

The motor is working but when you disconnect it from the back of the light there is a black stalk attached to it which im guesin needs to be attached to the light to adjust but isn't. Does anyone know how to fit this stalk to the inside of the light?

Diagram would be a nice if possible too ;)

Cheers,
Chris

To adjust the headunit you need the lights and ignition on and then turn the white allen sockets on the back of the adjuster. This will alter the height of the headlight, if you don't have the ignition on then they'll just keep resetting to where they are now which is the problem the morons at renault are having.

Trouble is you need a reference so you know how high to aim them.

Nice one! I think i have solved the problem. The morons at Renault didnt connect the motor stalk to the headlight properly. Just waiting for it to get dark now to make sure i have sorted it :d

when i did mine, i jst kept taking them out for test to check they werent too low. got there in the end

I lowered them down alot on your Clio, as when I got the car the lights were pointing to the ground as the auto-levelling arm had broke.

I think someone had tried to raise them up with the auto-levelling broke.
