wanted a m3 but....

  Elise,Pum,WRX,MCS,R6
Sorry but it has to be the M3, The V6 is not a bad car at you but for me I like a track day cars/drivers cars and the V6 isnt the best on the track from what I heard, the clio sports do better on the track or its the feeling/comments I get from people who do track days on here. The V6 does have its positives over the M3 but thats only at show rather then go imo.
& for people who think the V6 is slow, the acceleration In V6 isnt much off the M3 in real terms.
M3 -0-60 Approx 5sec V6 mk2 -5.7sec
M3 -0-100 Approx 13odd V6 - 14odd.

Driven both. M3 every day of the week. Both quick cars, but the M3 is up a level speed wise. Better steering, better interior, better driving position, better engine, more practical. The Vee has lots going for it, but get them on track and the m3 will be a fair bit quicker.

  Clio MK 4
A v6 is rare and you will get a buzz but i think the m3 is overall a better and wiser choice. Women will like you more with an M3 :D

Two totally differnet cars.

I don't like saloons there to long for me , while the looks of the Vee is beautiful , the M3 will become common and chav as price's drop, the Vee will hold it's value well.

The M3 will be a better/faster drive and will have better build , the Vee's no good if your settling down and buying a house/starting a family ( you'll need shares inMothercare/ B&Q's car park's LOL )

TBH both have there strong points and both have there weak points IMHO , test drive them both and see what you think.

Not even down to speed here cuz for overall thrill and for looks
i'd go the v6 route..
but seeing how u can pick those up for around 10 G anyway i'd go
for the m3 although there not my favourite and are has common
has jodie marsh

  Disco 5 ,Monaro VXR
Love the v6 haters lol

M3 all the way for me. Why are they common? Because they are a better car.

Yes a clio v6 is rare and has got presence. I nearly got one but if your spending 18k on a two seater there are far better cars available

But again thats my opinion

Have you looked at the M3 coupe?? ( to the o.p)

Hmmm, personally I'd aim for around £16k, and get a really nice Black Gold one, £15k is only just into nice one money, more slightly iffy ones than good ones there IMHO. It's the kinda car where it really pays to get a nice one as repairing stuff like bodged bodywork can be tricky and expensive.

Steve, your Asbo the orange one with the big BBS wheels? Get some pics up :p

I think everyone knows the M3 is the better car from a technical point of view - and will be faster in any situation, but the Vee will be a much more pleasurable experience from an attention an public love point of view hehe :) People always let you out of side turnings in a Vee :D

Dan

m3 is an amaxing car, but its not really that special, you see them all the time, we all know its fast and extremley capable and lots of fun but....

the vee is something very different. it makes you smile everytime you look at it/think about it/talk about it/drive it.

they are so rare, people stop and stare and its such a talking point.

exclusive is the key word!

  Clio 172 mk2
M3 probably the better engineered car but yet again, spoiled by a wideboy/medallion man image

  GT86, 335, Westfield
The M3 is a quicker car but it won't feel as special as a V6.

I once heard the owenership experience described like owning 'mini exotica'.

One thing's for sure though, it won't feel anywhere near as quick as the P1. At least, however, the bottom end will stay in one piece!

  MKIII 138

sums it up, its each to their own. the focus st is a horrid boxy un sporty looking car no matter what orange it has or wheels it runs, simply no where near as nice as the focus rs of past, and boxy, boxy, boxy.

fat.

btw m3 is not more popular/common than V6 because its a better car, its more common because it has a certain image with the types of people who have little imagination but aspire to be like everyone else, just the exact reason there is a direct link between chavs and estate agents.

coming from a 19 year old who drives a 1.2

think you should quit ur renault bashing, after all your on a site for based on people who own clios, back in the box young un and keep ur comments to urself

V6 - A french piece of s**t which is actually pretty embarasing and slow. Piss poor build quality and very poor fuel useage. people who do not know what the car is will think its a clio with body kit. £14k for a f**king clio ? i dont think so.....pieces of plastic s**t i hate them.

M3 - Although i detest BMW's and the idiots that drive them, this is the only BMW i like. Id take one over a V6 anyday, interior os nicer and the engine is better. 3.2 straight 6 with 343 bhp at 7900 rpm and 4.8 to 60mph.

Slow ass s**tty clio, or better, faster and decent looking BMW.

well then y are u on a clio site numnuts?

I hate clio V6's. and the clio has appauling build quality.

Shut the f**k up mikey it's not a cult website.

Maybe he needed some advice on a problem and then saw the kind of chit chat that happens...

Either way, anyone that would buy a v6 over an M3 for anything but posing obviously hasn't driven an M3.

At the OP though, there is a best of both worlds as I heard this might be for sale soon;) (M3 speed if not faster and the looks to make people stop and stare)

PMSL! @ Micheal! Away and grow a Penis eh wee guy!!!

Vee everyday of the wk!

Yes the BM is a sound choice, safe, better in alot of ways! But it lacks the soul and presence of the vee!
First day i drove mine i got a thumbs up from a boy in a 430! People stop and stare, come up and start chatting...It makes people smile.

The noise is epic! And trust me they are not slow. Nothing in it between a TB'd 172 and it from 30-130!

M3's/scoobs/evo's/ect etc...Maybe better cars/faster/quicker/handle better but i would have the Vee over any of them.

I even put a post up considering a change at the end of the yr...but with a fresh lick of paint, Coils, and a few other bits and pieces I can't warrent selling

Vee :approve:

It's actually a carbon fibre GTR bodykit on a normal M3.

Gruppe M induction kit.
JP straight through exhaust.
Full black nappa leather interior from a 2005 M3 CS.

Not sure when it's for sale but it's friggin lovely.

That is the old demo car for that crap Xbox game, built with Simpson Motorsport's kit. It's for sale, i wouldn't touch it!

8.jpg

That's the one. Same driveway too albeit I didn't park it there:)

Each to their own really. That Simpson car is a modified CSL though. They didn't make this kit either.

The real M3 GTR isn't road legal and lists at something like £120k. Proper race car.. But then that's not what this is.

  Turbos.
Yeah sorry, a Flossman kit. Race version...

l_fbodye462.jpg

IMO it should of been stripped out, or at least had a CSL interior, and made it into a proper track car.

  clio 2.0 182 & z3m coupe
what about a z3m coupe....still a bm and pretty much as rare as the v6. i know there not great for going round corners but they do go sideways v v easily :) . just an idea...

Not feeling it at all in that full car picture now tbf. Looked good from the front :)

To be fair, as it came from Sumo (the jap company that made it) it had a cage, bucket seats (which can go back in if someone wants it like that). But it also had PS2 and sunvisor screens...

It was a bit "need for speed" (i.e. shite). But I think it's nice now that the bumpers have been cut down a bit to be more usable. Body kit isn't ott and just looks like an aggressive M3.

On a serious note what tyres do you use? From my (albeit slightly limited experience) Pilot Sports give BMWs so much more ability.
the pilot sports are good thats what im running at the mo.....it did have falkens on it but personally i didn like them. one of the bonuses of the z3m coupes knowone knows what they are...always get odd looks.
