How to remove Ecu to swap for Remapped one ?

Sorry if this has been asked before.

I have just bought a Fastchip Grp N remapped Ecu (http://www.cliosport.net/forum/showthread.php?t=343852) :approve:

I was wandering how to remove the standard one to swap them over?

Does the wiring loom connector(the black connector/plug that goes into the top of it) just unclip ?

And are they bolted in place ?

And i take it i'd need to remove the battery for fitting ?

Any tips would be much appreciated.

You bought a second hand ECU :S , thought the chassis no. is locked to the ECU so you cant swap it.. just get your self an rstuner kit from fastchip for around £150, can keep your original ECU a revert it back when you sell the car, top bit of kit, hanks customer service is spot on :approve: Just plug it into the obd port ( located under ash tray ) & you can plug & play fast & furious style lol

Ones hes got is unlocked so should work straight from the get go....

Dicky think you got it right on the removal i know for sure you have to remove the battery to get at the bolts to remove it

Cheers for clearing up that the Ecu i bought is unlocked Dean

I did wander if battery had to be removed for fitting. :S

Reason i went for this one is because i can have my std ecu untampered to put straight back in if needed at a later date

And the one i bought will be unlocked/mapped by fastchip to suit my mods so far.

And when i get inlets etc i just update it

It be worth while getting the RS Kit as £70 i think it is for them to do a coustom map all you have to do is supply them with a Data log ill be gettign one once Henk finds a Mk3 1.6 to get the ECU map from

Where will i get data log fom ?
