Named Drivers quinn direct (driving other cars)

On my Quinn direct policy i'm allowed to drive other cars even tho i'm under 25. but just wondering are the named drivers on my policy also allowed to drive other cars ??

Cheers.

Probably not.

Only applies to policy holder only normally.

Also, remember that you only get 3rd party cover and is only really meant to be used in "emergency" situations.

Are you sure, as most are very strict on this 25 years old stuff, some don't do it at all anymore.

Does your dad not have his own policy in his name ?? If he does could do it under that (if he's allowed to, it'll be in his policy details)
The fact that he's named on yours doesn't come into it.

He doesn't own his own policy, As he doesn't use the car more then 2 times a week.
and i belive Quinn direct are one of the only ones still offering it to under 25's

  Never above 25mpg
I've got it woohoo! Used it to ferry the parents home after a family do or sometimes just for when my car won't start :D Very handy

I think it's unlikely being a named driver on your policy will give him cover to drive other vehicles tbh. I'd agree that it's also highly unlikely that you are covered to drive other vehicles being under 25. How about actually ringing Quinn and asking rather than asking people to make assumptions on the forum, or is that too straight forward?

Thats too "straight forward" at 23:30 at night ;), Its all clear now after ringing them. I'm cover to drive other cars on a 3rd party basis only if that said car has a insureance policy on it, But my named drivers are not.

Surprised you are covered at your age, thats very unusual. I'd have been inclined to take the name of the person and time/date that they confirmed this in the event you ever have the misfortune to make a claim on a car you've borrowed. Insurers are slippery b******s and will do what they can to get out of a payout.

Check your policy booklet, will tell you for sure in that.

I'm with Flexi-Bell and get 3rd party cover for other cars as well (under 25), but had to pay a bit extra to get it added.

three of my friends are insured with quinn and yes you are allowed to drive other peoples cars without paying extra, you get it even if you are only tpft yourself as well

my gf is only 18 and she has it on her bell policy, only 35 extra and there is no mention of emergency use only.

+1 I had this when I was insuring a 106 xsi TPFT at 18!

Flexi-Bell removed it as an option on there policies. So Bell don't offer it for under 25s anymore! This was as of a few months ago.

Its the best thing ever for people with points who want to drive a high group car... basically buy a s**t cheap car & the car you want, get your dad to insure it, then just drive it.. just dont crash :\
