Renault priceing for V6 parts.....EEEEKKK

took my v6 in for some coils to be changed and while i was there i thought id get some park for a few things i want/need!!

v6 front bumper splitter = 286 quid!!!
v6 ph2/182 trophy boot spoiler = 311 quid!!

then i randomly asked for the prices of the front a rear bumpers!!

front v6 bumper = 3240 quid :eek::eek::eek::eek:
rear v6 bumper = 1674 quid :S:eek:

i asked why Renault are taking the piss...his reply ''because Renault don't want clone v6's on the street!''

personally i think there a piss take tbh!

lol now i understand why there are so many cat D v6's about, smack a bumper and write it off lol

They dont want any clone V6s on the street? What a pile of crap!!
If this is the case and you can prove to them that you have a V6 you should get the parts cheaper. Just a cheeky way of ripping the customer off me thinks!!

^^ i did, and yes reno had it for the day....1- i couldnt be arsed to work on it 2- it was pissing down with rain and i havent got a garage 3- i had a meeting within that area anyway so killed 2 birds with one stone:)

Hmm last time I heard a front bumper was about £1200 from them, that wasn't that long ago either, it was for a mk2 vee, so I suspect a mk1 front bumper would be around that.

As for coils lol @ the price they charge, get some from peugeot, the same thing but they are £27 each.

I can see your point if it was the rear 3 coils, fair enough! My dealer is cheaper for all those parts too!

I drive it about 2 -3 times a week. When I do drive it I always make sure I don't just do short journeys.

500+ quid a vent! 400£ for the sill stickers. Over 200 for pads. Over 300 for disk! Daft.

its probably how much it cost renault to have them made up, plus a bit on top, development of the bumper, and the cost of having a mould made for such a limited run. They probably aren't making a great deal on each.

Don't lose any of the screws for the engine cover!!

Renault quoted something like £128 + vat each:eek:

They don't need replacing 'all the time' mines had them all done (before I got it) i've had it eighteen months so far with no probs

true, but there is definately an element or the 'renault lottery' with them:)
my mates had two sets in a year before he gave up and got the trophy set.

Yes it's not cheap replacing many of these v6 items. Even some of the less obvious parts cost a small fortune.

Side pods price

£550.34 inc VAT each

Then add painting of course.

Low volume supercars.:approve:

Considering its a relatively rare car i would say that is pretty normal. Same with the CSL and NSX, feel your pain.

Then all it would take is a owner to keep poping in and buying a few new bumpers and theres a load of fake v6 about.
