Fuel Rail Guard

Been removing my fuel rail guard alot recently as I'm in the process of polishing up, anyway while removing the nuts that hold it on this morning I managed to drop one down in to the engine bay (obviously never seeing that again). My Fuel rail guard is only held on with one nut now, although it seems secure will it eventually work it's way loose or will it be ok?

have you taken the plastic engine cover underneath the engine off, i dropped something down there last week and undone the cover and it fell to the floor.................failing that put some locktite on the 1 screw you've got in the meantime and get another 1

Not to sure what you mean, I had to jack the car up and undo the plastic cover that sits in to the bottom of the bumper as my 10mm socket fell down as well, I could see it resting on that cover.

Same as me, I don't run the fuel rail guard as my cold air feed feeds it!

Not to sure what you mean, I had to jack the car up and undo the plastic cover that sits in to the bottom of the bumper as my 10mm socket fell down as well, I could see it resting on that cover.

thought the nut that dropped down the engine bay might've been resting on the plastic cover too

Ahhh right, nope couldn't locate where that went, it headed somewhere near the electric fan I think.

It will be sat on the top of the sub frame, or was if you've now driven it since. The amount of times "little" jobs have turned into something much longer since I've owned this car is a joke. Not that I'm a clumsy c**t... lol

It's suppose to protect the fuel rail, not to sure what could hit it to be honest but it must be there for a reason.

i did the same when doing mine. they are stupid nuts too. 10mm nut with a 13mm thread inside so i replaced it with a 13 mm nut

Lol! Stupid thing is I've had mine off about 5-6 times now and know how easy it is to drop them down the engine bay. I normaly loosen them both off then tip the guard up as I'm taking it off. It was raining today so I was rushing and dropped the nut and socket.
