ive had the car for about a yeah and a half now and ive done a few bits to it so i thought it was about time i did a project thread. when i bought the car, i had no intention of doing anything to it bar tidying up a few scuffs and scratches. that was untill i joined this place so i hold you lot fully responcable for the end results lol. anyway this is how it was when i got it.

i then set about getting the scatches sorted on it to tidy it up a bit.

this is just one of the many scratches that it had. a few wher too deep to flat out and would need to be painted but that would come later

things then took a turn for the worst and i lost my job but managed to get work at another body shop. on my first day there on the way home i spun out on an island and caught the rear wheel on the kirb resulting in the wheen being knackard, stub axel being bent, passinger seat airbag being deployed and all the gref that followed to get it put right. and so followed the new parts and a jig session to make sure that the accident hadnt done any major damage. luckily it hadnt. so i replaced the seat, pretentioners(as the back ones had gone too :dead:) , air bag module and programming, stub axel and wheel. i think there where more bits but it was a while ago so i cant remember everything i replaced lol. once that was sorted i started to tart it up a little, starting with the engine bay

i then decided i wanted a bit more under there and so i decided to fabricate my own battery cover ...

i then thought that the fron end was looking abit taty and there were a few scratched (the ones i mentioned earlyer) on the rea bumper that needed doing so i started on them

You know when Clarkson reviewed the 182 and said it was like a puppy dog jumping up your lap.. That's exactly what the 2nd to last pics remind me off lol.

Very nice car, the steering wheel.. oh my!

great progress, not my cuppa tea - but you gotta admire the skills! well done :)

im impressed, would you be tempted to make some more of those steering wheel thumb rubbers?

also on your sub box what did you wrap it in, and paint over? is it strong enough?

  ibiza cupra
cheers for the comments and sorry about the spellings lol. i was a bit tired when i did this. i do the thumb grips when i get the chance mate and put them up in the for sale section. they are made from fibre glass though not rubber im afraid. as for the sub box, i rapped it in a fleece blanket then soaked it in fibre glass resin to stiffen it up. once thats done and you put all the sound deadning in and the filler on the out side then it ends up quite thick and dense which make for a good punchy bass.

Considering how many people posted in the thread about ruined thumb grips: *here* I bet you could make a fortune selling yours :)

i would strip it out like yours mate but it wouldnt be practical for me so i just made it my own.

yeah man it's all about what you wanna do with the car and getting it to how you want it to be. part of the fun and the reason we spend all our money on doing it!

  Clio mk2 ph2
You've put some serious effort in there, great work boyo! Im not one for subs however, but each to their own.

Keep it up!

cheers for the comment fellas. didnt think i had done a fat lot to it but whenm you look at it as a whole, there is a fair bit there. next on my list is a zorst system (when my renault one falls off), remap or rs tuner and possibly some of those k tec coilovers when funds allow it. wont be for a while though as my work hours have just been cut :mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:
