Forza 3

really!? i think its ten times easier than forza 2 tbh. grip on all cars is immense and blipping the throttle through the corners doesnt seem to see the back step around hardly at all.

but go to forza 2 and pick a c/b class car and i think there are similar amounts of grip. when you get into the tuning in forza 3 and the higher tuned cars i think thats when it will start getting alot more difficult to produce decent lap times imo

im pretty dissapointed tbh, che and turn ten have blatantly lied to everyone. Saying the cars have 10x poly detail and 10x texture detail etc..... yeah on the menu cars and initial roll up meybe...then as soon as the game starts switches to a much much lower lod model similar to f2. For example, tyres, wheels, brake calipers, lights (especially mini's 50p shaped headlights), windows..... interiors all but dissapear from view with magic tinted windows", cockpit view looks....well pretty terrible, look around in the mini for example! basically everything looks rough as compared to the models shown in all the promo videos, even replays running at 30 fps look no better. Now im aware this is a demo and possibly an old build and i hope this is the case else ill feel a little shortchanged after all the hype. I still love the game and will obviously be buying it mind you....

Paragraphs would have been nice.. all that moaning to say you'll buy it anyway :p

Sorry but I couldn't disagree with you more. Maybe you should try chucking in FM2 and doing a quick comparison, there's been a monsterous improvement over previous game. Everything looks spot on IMO, obviously there's a little more aliasing than in the photos but other than that the graphics are spot on. As far as I'm aware the full version will be identical to the demo, Turn 10 wouldn't risk releasing an older build this close to release date.

All facts though.... i wasnt moaning, just sharing my thoughts. The game is not what was promised by the hype.
Yes ill buy it, i said it was fun! Just not what i was expecting.

They're not facts but fair enough, everyone is entitled to an opinion and mine is that they've delivered exactly what they promised, I'm pretty sure most of the other people that have played the demo and posted in this thread will agree to.

Yes its an improvment over Forza 2 but its a far cry from all the 'Bull shots' that Turn 10 have posted, Car models are ok but not even on a par with GT4 HD demo that came out in 2007 and c**kpits are very 'last gen'

Other than that its AWEsome!

Maybe not facts but we all have eyes and if your truthful the car models and interior views have fallen well short of the hype

they ARE facts... the cars simply do not look like the images etc released by turn 10 thus far.....

Me neither, but have a gander over to the official forza forums and you will find hundreds of threads all saying the same... the game is simply not what was promised unfortunately.

do you think there will be an option to turn off the ghey shaking camera when the car revs just after it rolls up to the grid? really looks a bit dumb and kinda ruins the realistic-ness

Good comparison shots there mate... The cars don't look that much improved I'll admit but I certainly noticed a bit improvement when in game and with the camera closer to the car. The shots Turn 10 released were all done in photo mode, I knew this and never expected the game to look like that when playing it, GT5 will be no different in this respect. Looking at your comparison shots though there's a massive increase in detail for the track and it's surrounding and the texture quality has seen a huge improvement to.

That's because they were taken in photo mode... the game was never going to look that good and most people knew that. FM2 was the same and the GT series has been doing this for years

Have I been playing a different game? I tried going back to Forza 2 and it like playing an old ps1 game imo. I can obviously see the difference between the photomode pics and the game pics but we all knew that was going to be the case but there is a defo improvment especially in the background graphics from FM2

I am with Chris on this! It is an improvment in my view. Maybe all the geeks have got so excited they were expecting photo realism I dont know?

There is a clear improvment. What gets me is EVERYTIME a driving game is released it is obvious photo mode cars will NOT look like the models when racing yet people still expect them to? Are people really that retarded. Just play the bloody thing LOL

yep, I think a few people are missing the fact that all the cars are std, once you've got a 800/900bhp California it will be easy to drive sideways around every corner. If you take nothing from Forza 3 other than the extra content, (vast amount of cars, levels, tracks etc) then its still a leap forward from Forza 2.

I'm not missing the fact it's Standard, I'm just disappointed that a 400ish BHP RWD "Sports Car" sucks at going sideways lol. I'll be happier once I can build a proper drifter when it's released.

Exactly what I was tryign to say mate.

I can't wait for the full game now, not sure if I'll do anything but Touge drifting the first day I get it!

Forza 2 graphics defined what was possible with the 360, expecting a huge leap in visuals when Forza 3 is still running on the same hardware was never going to happen! To see cars with as much detail in the game as when viewing them in the photomode shall require the next gen console.

  Turbo'd MX-5 MK4
tbf it is hard to get the California to do any kind of drift on the demo track, the only reliable way to do it is to start the drift at some speed (as in my Youtube video)

The physics are great as far as I can make out and the tracks and scenery are stunning! Nigel, Forza 2 was never renowned for its graphical prowess and lots of racers have improved on it a fair chun, Dirt 2 and nfs: shift

Tracks and scenery have improved no end, the demo track looks incredible, Can't wait to see the mountain passes in Japan :approve:

I can't understand how people are struggling to break traction tbh...I read on neogaf someone saying how bad it was where the porka (on slicks) had pretty much limitless grip....3rd gear will slide the back end out quicker than a V6 on remoulds..even the mini needs feathering of the throttle to stop wheelspining or understeering on bends

^^ this.

I played with the mini first time round and threw it into the hairpin at a stupid speed because i was under the impression the grip was never ending, needless to say i also experienced the rollover mechanic on lap one shortly after.

Oh and in regards to the video. did i see bonnet pins and upgraded fmic's?

  Revels Mum & Sister
I know what you mean Chris with the Porka I was doing donuts all over the shop just trying to keep it straight when planting the throttle. This was with all aids off!

I'm not struggling to break traction (only have ABS turned on), just struggling to nail a decent chain drift. First time in the mini I loaded it up in the fast corners and it swapped ends before I had time to catch it lol.

i think people moaning they cant break tractions dont realise they prob have traction control on the porker always slides about and the mini have major oversteer ftw lol

Lol, I did exactly the same on my first go mate... side ways on that downhill fast corner
