Supercharged 200 would be nice, but new car + the supecharger = alot of money.

nah i only pay £1995 on insurance and its modified cra insurance so i pay 50 quid for every 25bhp i add so it aint that bad and to scott, thats what i said and he said its differnt in some ways, im just not happy with the straight line speed of the 200, its amazing through corners just not on the straights, i want to be able to own my dads vectra on the straights not just corners lol

I would have bought a 3 year old 197 as your warranty is going to be void anyway.

Cat cams quote the group N (stock) cams for a 197 at 287 inlet and 282 exhaust now I'm not sure if those are the definite timings or even if the 200 is the same, but if they are, it's a massive amount of overlap and thats not something you want on a forced induction engine.

I'll be honest I have'nt looked at any engine data for a 197/200 but if it only has the same 15/16 degrees on the inlet as a 182 then you still wont be able to dial out all the overlap.

You'd be better off with the cat cams 5504402 or custom.

pretty sure it's about a 50 degree range

oh and cams in supercharged engines dont work in the same way as in turbo engines as you're not relying on the exhaust to run the turbo. NA profiles are pretty damn close to spot on for a Rotrex

Come on then give me a quick education on the cam set up on the newer clios.

Are both cams variable?

And what are the exact cam durations?

i've not played enough TBH, BUT the 197/200 has controlled variation so you can adjust cam timing within a range (think it's 45 or 50 degrees) and change that timing throughout the entire engine range, so basically the overlap can be controlled, rather than just a switch point like the 172/182 has. It's only the inlet that's adjustable

I saw get it done mate and enjoy it. Your cars awesome and with SC power will be pretty much perfect.
