Fitting Larger Component speakers up front (6.5")

I've currently got a pair of SPL Dynamics Components in the front of my Clio, powered by an external amp.
They're in the standard 5.25" size, and as I have just upgraded my amp, I'd quite like to upgrade my fronts in size to some 6.5" Components.

Ideally I'd like to try and do it with as little impact as possible, so when I come to sell the car I can put it back to standard. If that's going to be possible.

Any advice/suggestions or a guide on how to modify the door cards to fit the bigger speakers in would be much appreciated!

I've tried a search but no real luck

THanks

I did it without removing the door panel. Cut the plastic, stick some soundproofing material to the door, drill holes in the metal, put in two wood spacers bolted to the metal, then bolt the speaker to the spacers.

unless you want to make custom door pods then the only other way is to cut all the plastic away behind the stock grill, and may need to shave a bit off the actual metal door bit, and then tap some new holes to mount the speaker to.

I had a guide somewhere on talk audio, ill try and find it.

Oh yea cheers thats quite a help, Im a member on there also don't know how I missed it lol.

I guess its sorta trial and error really
I need to have a think as to whether its worth me wrecking the door cards.

If you want a decent sound your gona have to wreck the door cards anyway as good amped speakers will sound crap without and mdf baffle. However installed and setup correctly ie, sound deadening, mdf baffle, sealed doors you can get a set of 13cms sounding quality without needing to drill the metal
