protecting my brake lines!

  CLIO PH1 172
im considering taking off the matting/ sound deadening at the back of my engine bay, 1. because it is half hanging off anyway and 2. it looks a bit manky !

when i remove it it will expose the brake lines to the heat from the manifold whats best to protect them?

i found this stuf which seems very cheap i was goin to just wrap it around every thing a couple of times? - do you think it would do the job?

Why not buy that, and cut it to shape of the existing matting, and so creating a nice new OEMish heatsheild?

I could do with some of that in this weather. Looks like the ideal insulator for you pipes, I wouldn't wrap each pipe though, rather one complete sheet fixed to the bulkhead again to allow air flow behind the insulation sheet. If you wrap each pipe individually it will also keep the heat in the brake pipes. Overall a good idea. Mod of the month?

Would it really make a difference with the heat sheild ?

Reason i say that is when the cars moving, i wouldn't have thought they would get that warm with cold air rushing past under car.

it will help reflect radiant heat from the manifold, leaving the pipes exposed in hot weather and running the engine stationary wouldn't do any good to the brake fluid.
