My Mate Gerrys K24 EG civic

It is a 1994 ESI, which has undergone a bareshell ground up rebuild in the past year/3000 miles. The shell was stripped right down and any panels with traces of rust were cut out and replaced, both inner and outer quarters, sills, inner arches, whole front end, 1 door. The shell was then painted Granada black (full colour change) and the underbody/arches etc treated with anti-chip paint, underseal, and wax. All the box sections, chassis legs, inside doors, panels etc have been treated to cavity wax, so the shell will last for years and years. A few custom touches finish the body off - custom front and rear bumpers, carbon fibre sunroof blank, sideskirts, Spoon lip.
Mechanicaly the car was completely overhauled. At the rear, the trailing arms were blasted and painted, new OEM bushes installed, new wheel bearings, and fitted with 262mm brakes (all new components inc calipers, cables, discs, pads etc). The LCA's are new skunk2 items, and all other bushes have been replaced with OEM ones. On the front, the subframe and hub uprights have also been blasted and repainted. The steering rack is a reconditioned ITR one, with new track rods, track rod ends, and gaitors. PAS has been removed. The hubs have been fitted with new balljoints and bearings. The upper and lower wishbones are brand new OEM ones. The brakes are 300mm and consist of brand new S2000 calipers, and brand new discs and pads. All solid brake and fuel pipes on the car have been replaced, and the brake flexis are neon blue HEL braided ones. The master cylinder and servo are from an EK9 (new seals) and it runs dot 5.1 fluid. The suspension setup is Koni coilovers, which give good handling, wide range of adjustment, and still a surprisingly smooth ride, there is also a DC2 ARB fitted. Wheels are SSR Type M, 15x7, stripped and painted, with new Yoko S306 tyres (195/50/15)
The engine is a K24/K20 hybrid, with very low mileage. The spec is K24a3 block, new oem h/g, K20a2 head/cams/inlet, DC sports header, 2.5" custom exhaust, AEM cai, Hondata Kpro ECU. It puts out 245bhp and just under 200lb/ft torque. The gearbox is a low mileage EP3 one, with lightened ep3 flywheel and new OEM ep3 clutch. Drive shafts are custom made, with new inner and outer CV's and gaitors. Swap parts include Hasport mounts, PT custom loom, PT/HEL braided clutch line, Karcepts shifter mounting plate, buddyclub short shifter, DC5 shifter cables, silicone rad hoses, EP3 full width rad with slimline fan.
The interior is pretty basic - theres a cusco rollcage, ATR recaros, aftermarket steering wheel, brand new EK9 RX pedal set, DC5 gearknob, gathers speakers, CD player.
Since completing the build Ive done about 3000 miles, and Ive enjoyed every minute of it. The performance is amazing, handling is sweet and there are no annoying rattles or knocks. The exhaust is quite loud though, but an extra silencer can be fitted if needed. It has been hassle and fault free since the rebuild. It was the cover car for Banzai in Dec 08.

  Charged Superleggera
gerry from performancetek? both are awesome machines, especially the eg civic, although can imagine the conversion on the jazz being alot harder with alot of custom fabrication.

That Jazz has sparked some right debate in our house.

My dad (jazz owner) was intrigued but my grandad just cannot see the point, thinks its a waste of a car, why would you need more power, they are tools not toys lol.

Personally I love it :approve:

  Oil Burner
Barely relevant to this thread, but here are some shots of my Race NSX in GT5 (also as an effort to convince Rob he needs this game/a PS3)

Standard they make 110-120hp iirc. Factory fitted BBR turbo makes 150, so anything upwards of that I should imagine is fairly easy to achieve.

i bet power to weight is quite good as well, 5s are looking more and more tempting lol
