Seat removal

  172 cup, Impreza P1
Probably just being daft but can anyone give me any pointers on removing the front seat from my 172 cup? Can't see any bolts holding them in, just rivet type things that I have no idea how to remove.

Thanks

4 bolts underneath the car for each seat, 2 in the exhaust channel thing, and 2 behind some large rubber grommets. Then 2 electrical sockets under the seat it's self, but disconnect the battery form half hour before

Took my drivers out today, bolt above the exhaust is a right c**t to undue, getting that undone took me longer than the rest of the job.

I had no tool that could get to it, was complete git!

Deep socket and wd40 ;)

I found the easiest way was just to use the rachet to do the first turn then used a screwdriver socket adapter for the rest of it

Had the same issue. 3 no probs and 1 that was a c"nt!

Now that I've removed the seat the 'serv' light has come on. I disconnected the battery long before removing the seat.

Any ideas?

lol i never disconnected the battery, didn't even think to do it, just unplugged em!

Serv light means the connections dodgy.

Plugging it into a clip won't do anything, if you wipe it off it will just come straight back. You need to buy a resistor kit from recaro or go to maplins and buy some 3.3ohm resistors. Search for the thread it's on here somewhere.

I know that, hence the and plug it into the clip. Sometimes just putting the resistors in will work but others it doesnt so you need to put them in and then get it reset

I'll be fitting some Cobra evolutions.today I wa just removing the passenger seat to see what subframes I need.

Then follow the advice above or live with it. My serv&airbag light have been on for about 5 months. Can't face paying renault £46 to reset it

I don't understand why you dont just stick a couple of 10p resistors in the plugs. I've found 3.9 ohms (0.6w)works the best.

Fitted the resistor today and lights went out. Quite straight forward and chap to do. Cheers for the help!

Which resistors did you use?

I used 3.3ohm resistors and worked on the passengers side.

Did the same on the drivers side but doesnt seem to work. Do you need to do anything with the seat belts? I unplugged a couple of cables from them and thought this might be causing the light to stay on rather than the driver seat.

The fix with using the 3.3ohm resistor in the plug seemed to work on the passenger side but not on the drivers side. I followed Boosh's guide about where to use the resistors but there are some differences in mine.

http://www.cliosport.net/forum/showthread.php?507739-Guide-How-to-turn-off-Serv-amp-Airbag-light.

He mentions putting the resistor between the brown and the cream wire but on the black plug on mine I only have a black, an orange and a brown.

I have fitted the other resistor as shown:

Am I doing something stupid but the airbag light is still on? This worked on the passenger side.

Come on, smeone must have fitted aftermarket seats to a cup. Is the wiring different to a regular 172?
