Show me your aftermarket steering wheels please...

Hi all,

My 182 has got the usual chewed up thumb grips so am considering my options as to whether getting it refurb'd or replacing it with something a little smaller as it feels a bit big in my hands.. :rasp:

So, what have you guys got? Im aware of the resistor mod needed to stop the airbag light flashing, and im not 'overly' fussed about loosing the CC option..

Get one from Tom@wests renault. Putting a smaller wheel is probably the best mod for an rs clio imo.

Yeah, been meaning to get around to that Just got myself some carbon plates cheap, that I'm hoping to turn one into a mounting plate for buttons.

That is lovely. I do like the Sabelt ones, just dunno how long it'd last with my big dirty man hands!

Cruise control 'mod' aside i actually kinda like that wheel, which OMP one is it dude?

In my view depends on what you want to use the car for, if you are going to use it more on the track then on the road then go for an aftermarket steering wheel. If you are going to use it more on the road then get it retrimmed, safer in my view especially as you never know whats round the corner. My retrimmed wheel:

looking on ebay. im seeing some cheap unbranded wheels for sale. what would be the issue with buying one of these if any? not the best looking but does the job for a more compact wheel

Cheers but that looks different. It doesn't have the thumb grips and it has the yellow line at the top. :S

My advice is call the guy from demon tweeks that gets us discount on here, he's amazingly helpful and really knows his stuff.

I've read about there not being space for the horn etc on the OMP boss.

He'll be able to tell you what'll fit etc.

as if people are paying £70 for wheels that bend??

you can get OMP wheels for that!! or if youre feeling cheap, get an RMD wheel, ive used one of those and they do the job just as well as omp, suedes slightly low quality but they dont bend!! lol
