Iron x, how do I use it.

Right utterly stupid post time. But is there a specific process to use this stuff?

I'm only really interested in using it on wheels, but if I wanted to how would I use it on bodywork?

Cheers.

Ps be nice or I'll ban you.

ash/dry the car first. remove tar.

Spray it on. Wait. Then either wash off or remove with a MF. re wash the car after. Done let it stain the paint.

Wash etc, tar remover the spray iron x on the car and leave for a bit watch it work it's magic. Don't apply in the sun or serious heat. It's also fine if the cars wet.

Remove using an MF cloth or just powerwash it off then re-wash/dry apply further products.

Wheels, clean as usual to get the dirt of them then apply iron x to remove the iron. Don't use it as a wheel cleaner it's a waste.

Removing with a MF is a waste of decent MFs, IMO.

This is at least the second detailing thread you've started in as many years, Tom. I'm starting to get worried.

I was a little taken aback, i'm thinking he surely hasn't posted in the wrong section... :o

Yeah I usually PW off then wash. Works just the same.

Someone's hacked Tom's account, I've never known him to be remotely interested in cleaning cars!

the iron x soap gel doesn't smell as bad as the spray, but my glove split and got it on my hands. After washing my hands several times I can still smell it

I wouldn't let a bad smell ruin your fun, that's what I tell the missus anyway.

Very good product, I used it today before claying, fantastic in little nooks and crannys around the windows etc

It would work well on your car, Roy, as you have larger brakes, thus heavier fall out.

And it's white! No better colour to use it on...

Is it as effective at it's purpose compared to the liquid?

I can see it being easier to apply sparingly and evenly, good for working the product in too

You use considerably less product than spray version, does take a little longer to start working but works just as well
